My door was stuck closed too, the same little mechanism as your was stuck on ours. Once we pushed it back in, door popped open. Thanks for the tip 👍

I’m sure it’s an informative video, but the camera work is terrible. Get a tripod and use 2 hands

Did you not go in through the blower aperture and replace that foam as well? Was the neoprene that you used self-adhesive, or which adhesive did you use please?

thanks - I have what I hope is the same issue, both rear side doors on my td5 wont open. Have gone in through the boot and tried twiddling everything - apart from the reverse of the bit you have pointed out. Fingers crossed when I go to the vehicle today, this solves it. Sorry you had to go through so much to sort it out. Cheers for such a detailed video!

The monza filler cap was actually designed to face the other way. So the cap flips up towards you. It was designed like that so when you where racing if you dropped it or went over the handle bars and caught it, it wouldn’t open and release fuel all over you, so keeping the fuel from spilling. Great looking bike 👍🏻

Did this on my 2000 9-5 that I purchased as a winter beater (only 120,000 miles on the car!). The procedure is pretty much the same. Except on the 9-5 I had to remove the alternator cable and a metal bracket in order to get access to the oil catch can. I forgot to remove the battery negative cable and got quite the shock and sparks when I touch that alternator cable with my wrench 😅I removed the negative cable, but goes without saying, I was very paranoid to touch that alternator cable afterwards lol

thanks for the vid I have an issue with one of my doors not locking, sometimes it does sometimes it won't & I haven't figured out why yet. Ive played with the latch positions & checked the wiring to the door actuators. All good. Hopefully when it stops raining I can get a door card off to see what's happening, again... Its painful working on an open drive in winter

Hold out for £7k plus... Beautiful bike mate and you'll get that price at least given the mileage. The Motone Monza cap is worth over £150 on it's own. Personally I'd have your Enfield over any new BMW bike. BMW have rather hit a wall with their quality control and no one would ever look past the Enfield on the street to a Beemer anyway. Just my view 😉
