I’d say that engine has low oil pressure issues spinning a shell killing a turbo 2 early signs of catastrophic engine failure

What is the paint set up you’re using please? I saw the gun on a previous comment. Air supply etc? Cheers, a really enjoyable video. Loved the use of the ladder/lever technique 👏🏻😜
@Gibboplay5 сағат бұрын
Hi. I can’t remember the make but it’s a 100L compressor. Each air gun requires a specific CFM (cubic feet per minute) to work without having to wait for the tank to refill. I think I went with around 20cfm but isn’t quite enough when spraying large panels. One very important thing is having inline water vapour filters and a good pressure regulator. These two things I learned are the difference between a good and a bad finish. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
@mikehewitt64843 сағат бұрын
Brilliant, many thanks for taking the time to reply with your very helpful information. The finish looks superb 👌🏻 I’m amazed you had a favourable weather window to spray outside. Thanks again for your info. Good luck with achieving your goal. I’m sure you’ll get a good price for the Fiesta, it look’s transformed 👍🏻

It just amazes me how manufacturers can just come up with bullshit that a vehicle doesn’t need servicing for 30 thousand miles or 3 years so it gets them out of having to service a vehicle, the oil gets diluted, engine has more wear what a crooked world we live in now

Where you a spray painter mate? Your brilliantly confident with painting That front bumpers off a Jetta mate weirdly they had similar on the R32 Golf but shared it with a Jetta god knows why Those rear vents are for when you close the door so the air doesn’t get trapped the Golfs , Focus & C1/107/108 are always badly affected with them leaking in water. Also when you do head lights mate stick a layer of ceramic coating or 2k clear coat over to protect it a little Enjoying this series literally watching video after video

No I just learned from building my S2000 track car over the years and watching KZbin videos such as paint society. Incredibly useful videos. It’s taken a lot of practice and mistakes but I’m getting better at it. I’ll try that with the headlights next time I need to do some. Thanks for the advice. Glad you’re enjoying the videos.

Ive built the S2000 track car over the last few years and learned loads from doing this. KZbin videos such as paint society has taught me everything I needed to know really. Then it’s just trial and error. Trust me there’s been plenty of errors 🤣🤦🏼♂️ Hasn’t been a good time to be selling cars with the market on its bottom but I’m going to go into all this in Mabe the next video.

Nice one but I couldn't understand why you didn't do the turbo on the first round, let's face it you knew it was knackered from the outset. Okay you probably needed to get a cartridge but you could have saved yourself the bother of re and dis-assembly. Cleaning the exhaust especially the DPF is definitely a great idea. Once it's done, it's done.
@Gibboplay2 күн бұрын
Turbo just felt a bit stiff but no wobble on the shaft so I wasn’t sure if it just needed some oil passing through it. Lesson learned 🤣 Thanks for watching.

I had same issue most likely oil inlet pipe blocked as well to turbo,and very likely in turbo blocked as well and you will ending with changing turbo or cartridge turbo.

Check the injector seals arent passing, that would be causing the carbon build up in engine its not uncommon. Also take it down the motorway and just get the exhaust up to temp and give it a good run, it will clear in less than 2 minutes, done it many of times. its the quickest and easiest way. youll be there all week trying to clean everything.
@Gibboplay2 күн бұрын
Hearing that a lot about the injector seals. I’ll have to try and figure that out. Thanks for this.

What was the material in the oil return pipe was it just oil ? These engines can take the entire auxiliary belt in through the front crankshaft pulley and you can’t even tell because the front seal just returns to normal it then gets mashed up and distributed round the engine I’m not certain what year it happens on because they modified the pulley to stop this happening,I know you’ve had the sump off did you find anything that looks like belt sorry don’t want to worry you😅I liked the turbo rebuild most people are frightened of them,on a closing note take the car out and give it some pasty for an hour or two see what happens 😂
@Gibboplay2 күн бұрын
This is very interesting. To be honest I’ve never seen anything like what this engine was like inside before. Couldn’t find any metal at all though strangely enough. Just slime everywhere. Thanks for the info.

Did you remove the intercooler and wash it out with petrol or brake cleaner? Try that, and clean the exhaust system like you said. It might be worth getting a bottle of launch DPF cleaner and running that through it .

Yes I imagine there’s a tone of oil and sludge in these parts. London turbocharger specialists on eBay and cost £168.00 Miles cheaper than a full new turbo.
