Prime Ministers are not directly elected. Presidents are. That’s the difference. In Canada and UK, Voters vote for the party/ mp they want in Parliament and if a party receives a majority of seats, their leader becomes Prime Minister. Countries with presidents like the US, voters vote for both the president directly and then congress separately. You can vote for candidates of the same party for both or different parties.

I live in Orlando. There’s a ton of touristy things which can get expensive and the beach is 45min away on the highway. With the theme parks , we all buy annual passes , a wdw weekday AP is like $500 and u can do the same for universal and sea world. - Orlando gets a bad rap but it’s been my home for 25 years. -even without the touristy stuff there’s quite a bit to do

if you ever make it here, i was born here (look up conway) and it does get boring. this is just the tourist stuff. if you come here you have to see the local stuff. You want to go to Mills/50, the Milk District, Curry Ford West, Thornton Park, and Colonialtown. Thats where the locals are, and that is where the best food and drinks can be had. everything else is for the birds.

We live 70 minutes north of Orlando and spent the evening “for free” at Disney Springs for dinner and the free entertainment shows. The many theme parks offer world class entertainment so close to home and Florida residents get large discounts especially in the sweltering summer months, we mainly go with our frequent outta town visitors. I love living in Florida, despite the six months of summer, still wearing shorts and sandals though. Traffic can be annoying, but the road system is pretty good and always under construction. Sure beats hibernating inside from cold weather we used to deal with when we lived up North.

Hope you can make in the near future. I live about 6 miles from Disney's front gate. About 40+ miles from downtown Orlando. In May my grandson came with 4 friends, all college students, and stayed at my house. It was crazy. We didn't do Disney but went to other places and I drove them to downtown Orlando and they figured a rail train to return. They loved Orlando, the scene for young people and food. I also drove them to the beach by NASA Kennedy Space Center----about 2+ hours from my home.

Long time Orlando resident here. I moved here years ago because of the parks being here and the great economy. There are always jobs available, because tourism is king here. Florida usually gets over 120 million tourist annually, Orlando generally gets between 70 and 80 million of those tourists annually. It is a worldwide destination. Depending on the time of year, you will have people here from Brazil, Dubai, Australia, China, India, Africa, or Europe. Disney World is the largest of all the Disney parks, and it consists of four theme parks and two water parts and over 34 resorts, a couple golf courses, it’s on fire department, a huge outdoor mall called Disney Springs, etc.. It’s just huge. You have to take the highway to get between Parks. Disney World is mostly on the south west side of Orlando. SeaWorld, on the south side of Orlando, is a theme park with a lot of roller coasters and animal attractions. Next to it is it’s a waterpark called aquatica. Discover Cove is like nothing I’ve seen anywhere else. North of Seaworld, but still on the south side of Orlando is Universal. Currently they have two theme Parks and one waterpark. Universal is building the newest theme park set to open in May 22, 2025, called Epic Universe, which will have 5 themed lands, Celestial Park, Dark Universe (Universal’s Monsters), The Wizarding World of Harry Porter: Ministry of Magic (the third Harry Porter land in as many parks), Super Nintendo World, and finally How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. This park will open with three hotels, but room for expansion to add more hotels, and actually even another Theme Park. The KZbin channel: Theme Park Stop really does a great job covering the building of this new theme park which was started right before Covid hit. Gatorland, which is south of Seaworld, is the oldest of all of these Parks in the Orlando area, in most affordable, and the most Florida like. International Drive (also called I-Drive) starts down by Seaworld and the convention center and winds it’s way up into Orlando. It has all kinds of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, attractions, and outlet malls. Orlando has several large Outlet Malls. The shopping here is so good I have friends and Mexico and Brazil that annually fly to Orlando to shop. The prices are so good that they save more money than the cost of their flight. Besides all of that though, Orlando has a lot to offer, from the Doctor Philips Center for the Performing Arts downtown. Also downtown the Kia Center where the Orlando Magic NBA basket ball team plays, as well as the Orlando Solar Bears ice hockey team plays. Just west of downtown we have the Inter&Co Stadium (formerly called Camping World Stadium) that hosts college bowl football games like the Citrus Bowl and others. It’s also home to the Orlando City SC, part of Major League Soccer and the Orlando Pride, part of the National Women’s Soccer League. It has also hosted several games for FiFA. In 2008 it also hosted WrestleMania XXIV, and in 2017 WrestleMania 33. Nextdoor, in Tinker Field they host the EDC Orlando every year. Besides multiple botanical gardens, and museums and parks and lakes all around Orlando, there are also numerous universities. UCF (University of Central Florida) is not only the largest university in Florida, it’s one of the largest in the nation with over 70,000 students. There is also Full Sail University with degrees in entertainment media, and emerging technologies. Rollins College the oldest one in Central Florida, and one of the prettiest college campuses anywhere. The local community college is Valencia College, that offers 4 year degrees and has multiple locations around Orlando. There are other ones too but these are the big 4 in O-town. Orlando is also home of Lockheed Martin, and other high tech companies. For a city of only 1.5 million people, Orlando packs a lot in there. There is so much to see and do in Orlando that I would think people not living here must get bored a lot. And considering that 500 people a day have been moving here for the last decade, I’m not the only one that sees the appeal. Now, if you ever do come to Orlando to visit the theme parks keep in mind, They all take at least one day. and some take two days. It depends on the time of year that you come and how busy it is. But as someone else said, it’s very expensive and for most it’s a once in a lifetime vacation.

The reason that Democrats did not win is because they could not cĥeat as much as they did in 2020. I would guess that Trump got about 80 to 90% of the votes. I live in Texas. If you study votes in the last 4 year votes you will see that there has been about 150 million votes but in 2020 there were an additional 20 million votes for Democrats! Why did these 20 million votes not appear this time?

The South is more of a cultural region than geographic which is why the further east you go, the further north the South goes. In Kentucky, Virginia and West Virginia you can find many people with strong southern accents even though those states are not that far south. But further west in Missouri and Kansas, you don’t really find southern accents so they’re not considered southern.

What happened? A combination of multinational raising prices arbitrarily in food, lack of local laws to resist international investors from eating up propreties in Canada and yes definetly a lack of construction vs the Immigration rate creating a pressure on the market. But there is also the issue of short therm renting apps pushing people out of the city and taking over whole buildings. It's not really immigration by large, it's unchecked corporate/super rich greed.

Thurston, that big warship that was docked there when he was talking about New Jersey was the Iowa-class Battleship USS New Jersey BB-62. It was one of four Iowa-class Battleships that entered service in 1944 in WWII. However six were planned, but the end of the war kinda scrapped the idea. The other three are the USS Iowa BB-61, the USS Missouri BB-63, and the USS Wisconsin, BB-64. The USS Illinois was gonna be BB-65, and the USS Kentucky was gonna be BB-66. They were equipped with three triple 16-inch main gun turrets. Two in the front, one in the rear. A Montana-class ship was planned after the Iowa's that incorporated a second gun turret on the rear, but of course was never built. The Iowas served until right after the Gulf War in 1991. When it was determined that their main gun use had been usurped by tomahawk cruise missile technology that could precisely hit targets many hundreds of miles away. In fact Naval guns are only used now to fight off small boats that may come near the ships. Like Somali pirate ships.

It's my dream to go to Orlando too, along with Tampa and Kissimmee. Disney should be the LAST thing you ever think of! It's definately NOT the top thing to do anymore and it should never have been! My list of must dos in Orlando and Tampa are SeaWorld, Universal Studios, Universal Islands of Adventure, Universal Volcano Bay, Pirates Dinner Adventure, Old Town/ Fun Spot America, and Busch Gardens Tampa.
@xviper2k10 сағат бұрын
What do you have against Disney? I mean, I was expecting you to promote "the real Orlando" in some way after saying that, but instead you just listed off a bunch of other tourist traps, some of which are clearly inferior to the experience Disney provides. It's especially odd since coming here is your deam, meaning you've never been here...

I live here in Orlando, it's a pretty great place dude. I've traveled alot and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. The heat is brutal in the summer but if you can take the heat it's amazing. I grew up going to Disney, Seaworld, and Universal and they were great back in the day. I worked out at Disney 10 years ago valeting cars and got to go into the parks for free whenever and as much as I wanted and it's miserable. I worked there for about 4 years and I went 3 times. I can't imagine paying for tickets and there are people who save their whole lives to make a family trip. Everything is so expensive and you're going to be waiting in lines for hours. Seaworld is the best but they got a bad rep for the whole Blackfish ordeal. Busch Gardens in Tampa is my favorite park but I'm excited for the new Epic Universe park.
@xviper2k10 сағат бұрын
SeaWorld shouldn't get a bad rep for Blackfish. They should get a bad rep for how they've allowed the park to go down the tubes and how they only build roller coasters anymore. It was never on Disney's or Universal's level, but it's become a glorified Six Flags.

You can do Disneyland in CA in one day. It’s fantastic. Across the street from it is California Adventure, another Disney theme park, and you can do it in one day too. So get a two-day pass. Disney World in FL is humongous. You need 5 days to see it all. If you go for a week, I recommend you buy a 3-day pass, and go see one of the other theme parks for 2 days. The following year you can come back for round 2. You’ll never see it all in one visit.
