Good progress. You can use your lead hand a bit more to measure distance and faint before attacking. And try some more practical basic combinations like 1-2 ,1-2-3 and 1-slip-2, they'll help you with your focus and punch selection and they're quite realistic to throw in a fight. Incase you're imagining an opponent in front of you whilst shadowboxing you can practice keeping your hands up when exiting after an attack. Great work mate

It's very good that you're self-taught and you getting the movements down. There are a few things I will recommend, you need to up your volume of punches when shadow boxing, because if you're in a medium to hard sparring scenario or fight scenario the number of punches will never be enough. I'm only speculating, but going by how you move you're not really used to sparring or have done very little. I would recommend you start sparring and also do pad work. I also noticed your foot movement is off and also unbalanced it's probably why you're not able to throw volume punches

You are moving like a pendulum meaning anyone with proper rhythm is just going to pop you over and over. L-step or literally do anything to change up your rhythm. Also every time you go to throw an uppercut you are dropping your hand you are going to throw. Keep it up it doesn't take a lot to knock the wind out of someone or rock them. You are throwing your weight into it which is GREAT but just change up the rhythm and keep those hands up. Try jumping rope at different speeds to help.

Again pick a stance and stick with that one stance. No switching back and forth. It will make your progress much faster. I understand you are new to it all so I won't criticize much, not too bad really. The one thing I will say is, extend the jab all the way. Even when shadow boxing, gotta keep that jab extended out completely. I'll give you a sub, keep it going.
@code61438Күн бұрын
@@ArtistDaynz90 thanks for the tip about the jabs but, do all jabs have to be strictly straight shots like not completely extending a jab and using it as a faint could work right? Also thanks for the sub ill sub to your channel too
@ArtistDaynz90Күн бұрын
@@code61438 Yeah you can do more with the lead hand other than just throwing a fully extended jab. My only point was that in practice, shadowing boxing for example, it's good to build the muscle memory for the jab. Jab is big in boxing. Fully extending the jab is the key to a good jab. You don't really need to "feint" a jab in that sense anyway, as the jab is already the range finder and the setup punch as it is. If the jab isn't fully extended, no matter if it lands or not, it will be seen as a lazy jab and people will start to time it and counter. Always stick the jab out fully, even if you know it's not gonna land. Or even if it's to set something else up behind it.
@ArtistDaynz90Күн бұрын
Your straight punches are pretty decent for a beginner, your 1 2 is crisp. Don't bother switching stances though. If it's about pure boxing, you are better off picking one side and mastering that one side.

solid technique, youre fusing both the peekaboo style and the soviet style by both using the soviet footwork and the head movement of the peekaboo, it could be very nice in sparring but you gotta understand that only mastering styles with shadowboxing is not gonna be helpful, you have to spar with someone to understand which things you did wrong and whats more effective in a real battle. but i gotta respect the grind, you got some potential to become a great boxer
