Hello, thanks for sharing your SI 2025 set up. It looks like you'll be making good use of all those lovely blank pages. :-) I "trained" my SI to lie flat. I smoothed down the front cover from top to bottom and pushed it back a little. The cover then stays in that position. I have been using it all year though and I think it gets better the more it is used. Also I don't have the added weight of a leather cover for it, only the clear cover this year. I seem to recall Catherine did a video on how to train the pages to lie flat but obviously it's a matter of preference as some people don't like bending the spine. I bend the front cover a little and only smooth down the pages and it seems to be fine. I hope you enjoy using your new planner. :-)

@@allmypassions Thanks for your reply. No I don't have my planner on YT but I'm sure you will find plenty of "flip through" videos from other people. For 2024 I used the Hobonichi Hon because I missed out on the SI pre ordering. However I did use an SI N2 for notes and an A5 for faith journalling. If you use stickers, tip-ins or watercolour, it will bulk up to some extent. I haven't done much decorating this year but I'm hoping I'll have the time in 2025.

@ I usually don’t use a ton of stickers but still a bit. Just one or 2 per page so nothing much. I hope I will be able to have it the whole year. If not I’m 100% back to hobonichi for 2026. I even still keep the sneaker weeks as a backup 🤭

@allmypassions You've got the Sneaker weeks as a back up!? That made me laugh. If you only use one or two stickers per page it should be ok .. I guess. I have transparent or very thin stickers which work well. I loved Hobonichi but I think I will be staying with SI for now. :-)

@ I think the hobonichi mega is so perfect (like the amount of notes pages) just that I hate cream paper 😓 I wish SI would do an option with like 250 notes pages.

Hobonichi Weeks Mega is my favourite. I actually use all the pages, or sometimes I have around 10 pages left because I switch to another planner by November/December. I love the beautiful regular Weeks but not enough pages. I also like the idea of the Sterling Ink and how minimalist it is. But after purchasing, I felt the quality was not the same as Hobonichi. So, for 2025 and beyond, I've decided to stick with trusted brands such as Hobonichi, Stalogy and Midori. I

Hi, I really hope it works out for you. I bought two Hobonichi Weeks this year, and after I got them, I found out about Sterling ink weeks, and was curious too. I ended up not bying because of the shipping, but the compact one was tempting, but I also know I prefer a slimmer book, which for me is more comfortable to write in.

@@bubblefrog1965 I have 3 weeks now 😅 and the sterling ink coming. I will probably keep 2 weeks and see if I like the sterling ink. It’s so crazy. I know it’s just planners 😅 but i keep them a year and I need to make a good decision so I can be consistent.

@@allmypassions I know the struggle, always not sure if I have made the right decision, haha! I like the idea of the Sterling ink weeks compact because it's a bit wider than the regular weeks, because the paper is flush to the edge. Maybe it's not even noticeable when writing, idk … I'm also trying to figure out if I like the weeks size or regular a6 for my journal, so I can buy a nice leather cover. I was sooo tempting bying the SI weeks with gold edges in tweed, or the same size notebook. I have the dark blue stardust cover and the harvest plaid cover for my weeks :)

@@allmypassions I love the look of a super chunky notebook, but hopefully for me the regular weeks note pages is enough. I'm excited to see it, if you unbox it in a video :) Also, for me, sometimes it helps bying something I'm thinking about and find out it's not for me. Then what I already have is the thing I want in the end. But seing and holding the other option is sometimes a must to really know. Also, I actually ended up LOVING the Hobinichi pen, which I didn't think I would. I'm so happy about that :)

I would probably buy a compact weeks in a FB destash. I saw a few this year on fb but wasn’t sure about the size. Since then I have Learnt the difference between N1 and N2. I also can’t decide which planners I will use for 2025.

I found the sterling ink weeks a bit bulky to write on. I do like the white paper and quality but for me, I prefer the compactness and slimness of the hobo weeks

I personally like them a lot, but now I have a problem because I had already decided that I would buy something with a snake cover (because I am snake in the Japanese/Chinese Zodiac) but I like the Cherry one more (and I like cherries in general). And I wasn't going to buy a Hon this year, just an original, but I can't find use for two Weeks, either. I am probably going to buy the Cherry Weeks Mega and maybe a Snake Weeks later, possibly in the spring, if I really want it and can come up some use for it... Or maybe a Hon, this year I got the Cats one relatively cheap on sale. Decisions, decisions... And I noticed your another video right after I posted my comment! :D

@@tyttiMK I use the second weeks as my book journal. It’s probably not the most useful decision but I just love the regular weeks covers so much so I want to have 2 😂 I like my book journals also that way and I can always find them easily in my cupboards

@@allmypassions That has been one of my ideas, too, or actually a combined media journal, or just for TV series, documents and movies. (I have actual book journals which would be better suited for reviews and such and I already use three different sites/apps to keep track of my reading/listening, as well...) And I would probably use 50 pages of the Mega to track a reading challenge, so I could have the prompts and my ideas for them with me everywhere. I have been putting photo stickers of the book covers in my A6 Hon (just bought a Canon Zoemini 2), so next year I'll have to decide if I want to continue doing that or start using Weeks for it, but I think they fit better in A6. So the books are already everywhere... But this is my first year of even using Hobonichi, so I still have some figuring out to do.

I ordered the hobonichi techno origin. I also a thinking of Leuchtturm 1917 Daily A6. But I am not convinced that it is the right book to carry all day around. And I need to have a daily planner because of all the meetings and stuff during the day at work.

Hi, at 2:57, how much does the closure thingy stick out? I'm considering ordering a custom, and I'm not sure what kind of clasp I want. Does it poke out a lot on the front so you feel it when writing on the left?

The only reason I want the clasp is because I like how it looks more than without. I also thinking without any pockets, so there is a smooth surface to write on on both sides!

I'm trying Hobonichi weeks for the first time next year. I'm so excited. I already have a Hobonichi Techo planner in A6, which I really like, but I haven't used it as much as I would hope. It's just a journal or memory keeper of som kind, and did not work as a planner. I need my weekly view. This year I use Travelers notebook (standard size) with monthly and weekly inserts, which I like, but I just feel the space is too big for me. I think the weeks size will be the perfect size for my needs. I like som white space, but not too much, which it is now, so … I hope you find out what you want, and make it work for you! :)

Hi! Your black weeks cover from Sasanks Studio is sooo pretty. I'm debating on getting one myself, but I'm just not sure what to do. I really like the look of a clasp, but I don't like the bump when writing. This is my big dilemma, haha! I don't need a clasp, since it will stay on my desk, but I'm not sure if I just will do without, or maybe an elastic closure? Now I'm planning in my Travelers company notebooks, and I love he system and everything about it, but I'm tired of everything NOT laying flat, no matter what I do. If that was no issue, I would probably be in my TN forever, but I'm curious about the Weeks, so I'll buy one and test out next year. And here I am, looking for a cover for a planner I don't have, and don't know if I like, lol!

I know the dilemma. But it doesn’t bother me much to be honest. If you know it would, you could check out her Etsy shop, she has a lot of different closure options. I also know the feeling of needing something after watching a video. I think the most important thing is to have fun in our planner systems and make it useful for us. I love to document my life and being able to go back and check how I felt a certain day just makes me happy 🥰 I hope you find the perfect cover for your needs

@@allmypassions I may just end up getting one without closure, as your A6. It will stay on my desk anyways, so I don't really need it. I think I will be more happy with a surface that doesn't annoy me, than something I just think is pretty. I'm glad it doesn't bother you tho :) I even have to take the elastic out of my Travelers company notebook covers, since I cand't deal with the bump in the back, haha! damnn i wish i watched this before buying my sneaker weeks mega + clear cover 😭 i'll try to see if i can get used to using the weeks without a cover for a few weeks or so... if not i'll probs look into buying a custom leather cover orr maybe a hobonichi pouch so that the cover doesnt get damaged or bent when i place it in my bag

Moleskine seems to have two grades of paper in their planners and notebooks each year. The better quality paper books will have a blue and sometimes orange I believe sticker in the back and the lower quality has yellow which you can’t always tell before buying it. Some people have been able to identify based off the tone of the edge of the pages. This is what I’ve gathered.

I have a regular weeks but i need dailies for little things in my day like a note for health or anything and i had 2 separate books but now i take 1 page a week in the notes for this and it works well ! You seems to like the Mega more, but your cover and your setup of the regular is sooooo cute! Maybe using the regular just for health ? Your steps, your health trackers…

I just bought my first Hobonichi, the Techo Cousin. I'm already loving it. I'm using it as my primary book for everything this year. On the monthly squares: I put an idea, key words, or theme. Weekly: bullet point thoughts, checkboxes for tasks, and a green "+" for positive events or observations. Daily pages: mainly journaling, quotes, key ideas from reading, and thoughts about today or tomorrow.

Sounds like a good plan. Will you do some flips? I have never used the Techo Cousin. I feel like I can’t use everything at once monthly weekly and daily. Which doesn’t really make sense because that’s what I use in my hobonichi weeks. Maybe it’s the size… 😅

No it doesn’t. The converters are also not that good. I threw the Lamy away. It was leaking too much unfortunately. I’m using Twisbi now and I’m very happy

@@allmypassions Kann ich verstehen. Ausführliches journaling schreibe ich woanders. Habe mir vorgenommen 3 punkte einzutragen: Event an diesem Tag, etwas Positives und etwas Negatives. Damit der Tag über die Jahre vergleichbar ist. Im freien Teil will ich dann meine aktuellen Songs und Bücher eintragen. Diese Sachen verbindet man ja auch immer stark mit der Vergangenheit. Aber ich bin noch am Experimentieren, das ist ja das Schöne am Hobby.
