In fallout law some chapters of the Brotherhood have ignored the chains that bind rule in order to make the command chain simpler because with the chains that binds rules any orders that the elders give has to follow the various levels of the command which takes time so if an elder has to make a last minute change it the Orders for operational reasons under the old inflexible rules it would be impossible but by ignoring that rule it makes it a lot easier to do so but may upset the More traditional members of the brotherhood

So, this video inspired me a bit to tinker with disguise scripts a bit for my own personal mod. I've never liked how putting on and removing disguises completely screws up your reputation, since the scripts involved already call functions that set and unset ally/enemy relationships when you disguise yourself (these being entirely separate and having to remember to actually set a faction as an enemy as a separate action from fiddling with rep is 90% of why the Great Khans are weirdly chill about you being vilified from prior encounters). As such, it pretty much is perfectly fine to dig up the scripts in GECK and tear out the bits that clear your reputation, and the ones that restore it from cached values when you finally take the disguise off. Changing that means you can still gain and lose reputation while still benefiting from the effects of the disguise, which makes it feasible to actually do a faction's questline while wearing their uniform since removing the disguise won't cause them to abruptly forget they like you (which would break a lot of the benefits of having high rep with a faction).

This quest remains one of the best ones of Fallout 3 because it shows you that despite your best intentions sometimes the best option is to make no choice at all and even if you try to please everyone it can turn out to be the worst of the options

Basically for people who don’t know, Cottonwood Cove is supposed to be like 10 times bigger than it really is ingame due to console limitations. Boone knowing that his wife and unborn daughter, we’re going to get sold into slavery with little to nothing he could do decided to take them out of their misery. Spotted hundreds of legionaries from different ranks he’s a good shot probably top three in the entire Mojave but he only has so much ammo and was completely by himself.
