Dear Roger, with regard to your review and specifically your comments implying that the only downside to the Nah Then festival was the Black Market bar, I feel that I must retort. The bar can be a very important element of a festival and if you are going to include this in your review, then please ensure that you assess the most important factors. 1) Price, ours is officially the cheapest festival bar in the universe, cheaper than a lot of peoples local pub and £2 or £3 or even £4 a pint cheaper than some bigger and better known festivals. 2) Choice, ours is the widest choice you will ever find in a field, basically our entire pub selection in a field with not just the usual lager and cider, but 6 choices of real ales 4 ciders, Guinness, alcohol free beers and ciders, wines, spirits, soft drinks, malt whiskeys, you name it we sell it. 3) Quality, all our draft products are served through the same high spec dispense equipment and coolers as you will find in the finest public house. 4) Ambience, punters are very keen on friendly service, quirkiness of the decor, vibe etc, our vibe at the Black Market bar is legendary. 5) Service, despite your claims to the contrary, I have it on good authority, from Siobhan, our own queue time analyst, that the longest wait throughout the weekend was appx 4 minutes. The length of the queue, which accounted for 100% of your review, was actually due to all of the punters opting to queue in single file, taking longer for staff to get their attention, if they had spread out along the bar as they would in their local, it may have been what we know as two or three deep at the bar at the most. I have actually waited longer for a 3rd sneeze to arrive than most people did to get served. Having missed such a plethora of information I can only assume that you don't have all that much experience of actually visiting the bar yourself and as such you missed out on all of these lovely opportunities to widen the scope of your review. Had you done so I would confidently have expected a 5 for price, a 5 for choice, a 5 for presentation, a 5 for quality, a 5 for friendly bar staff and maybe a 4 for the queue, 1 for each minute of the wait. Anon😉

Thanks for your comment Dave, I did visit the bar on several occasions. I agree with you about the pricing and the choice, and yes I have been to festivals where the queues are a little worse. My comment was an observation and was the only thing I’d heard other people commenting on whilst I was at the festival.

For me it was a lovely bucket list opportunity…. and ticked all the boxes bar one which was that the seats were quite small. 6ft tall guy next to me was pretty cramped. Having said that, the Co op Live arena was well manned for assistance staff. Co op concessions were well equipped food wise and well priced. Some other concessions were selling chicken burger baps for £12.50 with flavoured fries a further £5.50.

I’ve done big gigs, I shy away from them these days. I couldn’t do the gods now I get vertigo! Is it worth it?
@icanseethestagefromhereАй бұрын
The reason why we were up in the gods was that the ticket prices were more reasonable up there, I can’t bring myself to pay £150+ for a ticket when that can get you ten gigs at the grassroots level. In terms of was it worth it, I’d say yes, I thoroughly enjoyed the Doobie Brothers, and it was good to see the Eagles, although I’ve got to say that their performance was far too perfect in most of the gig. On balance I’m pleased I was there. 👍
@andreasmith8204Ай бұрын
@@icanseethestagefromhere yea, the price of some of those gigs is eye watering. Now I’d rather spend my money locally . Hmm yea, I saw a video that wings of Pegasus did, he did a comparison from two gigs and they were a little too perfect!
@icanseethestagefromhereАй бұрын
@andreasmith8204 I’ve seen the same video. The Doobie Brothers were working really hard. And their sound had an energy about it, where the Eagles just sounded perfect, but seemed to lack that energy about it.
@andreasmith8204Ай бұрын
@@icanseethestagefromhere yea, I don’t want the sound to be perfect, although I want it to be good, I want it to be of the moment, and that’s not always perfect. But it’s unique to that performance and I want that uniqueness!

Terrible view, terrible sound. Go and support live music in grass roots independent venues when the bands need your support
@icanseethestagefromhereАй бұрын
Well Tony, you obviously don’t follow my channel as the majority of my videos are from grassroots music venues and grassroots musicians, ask any of them, and the promotors, and they’ll inform you how much I do to promote grassroots music. @icanseethestagefromhere my point is, why put yourself through an awful experience...overpriced seats where you can barely see who is playing. Overpriced merch, overpriced beer etc. I know where I'd rather be.
@icanseethestagefromhereАй бұрын
@tonymaddison I put myself through that so I could do a venue guide, in the same way as I do venue guides for grassroots venues as well. I like to include everyone, because the more subscribers I get to my channel the more they’ll see how good grassroots artists, and venues are. I don’t like to be narrow minded like some people. As I said please check through the other videos on my channel, yes I’ve done a couple of arenas recently, but the majority of my videos come from small festivals and small venues, so please don’t waste time on me, and on what I’m doing. Concentrate more on what you’re doing, go out and support live music, wherever it’s played and enjoy life, and don’t try and drag people down. 👍
