its a shame that the Peggy here in this video and i will never ever ever ever ever cross paths because her prime here was in the late 50’s, early 60’s. i wasn’t born until ‘93. we are 52 years apart. the chances of me finding a women my age that looks identical to her are impossible and practically a fantasy because of the style and personality. Peggy looks so beautiful here that sometimes i get sad knowing i wont ever find a woman like her. and thats the sad reality to this all.

This clip is unbelievably horrible when it comes to a television music show. The LW show was really about old folks from another era just wanting to dance to champagne music with bubbles around them. This show became so desperate back then to speed up to the times! They were pitiful as a mockery in so many ways as the new generation of highly gifted musicians and singers took over the music business. The LW show was extremely boring for children especially. Yawns were the normal response for many television viewers. We considered it punishment to sit and watch this nightmare.

I was never a fan of Lawrence Welk, in fact, I hated the show, still do. My mother, who is 92, never liked it either. Whenever it came on the television, I remember my mother would say, "See what else is on because I'm not watching that shit"!! 😂 It was popular amongst many people, though. The show stayed on for thirty one years.

@70sgirl42 : Do you and your mum like Jimi Hendrix, Mick Jagger, Zeppy, Who, Grateful Dead? This Query might be Insulting, but really not much difference from your 💩💩💩💩 ing on other Folks' Dinner Plates....

@rayjones7313 No one is 💩💩💩ing on another's dinnerplate. It's called free speech. Some people liked it, some didn't. BTW, my mother didn't like rock & roll either.

Who's watching this in 2025 and remembering it being a part of their childhood? I am 51 now and never really thought much of it as a child watching it with my grandparents, but am sitting here with tears in my eyes wishing I could go back and relive those wonderful days gone by. This song will always hold a special place in my heart because I know that both of them are in heaven with Jesus and that one glorious day, we will meet again.

I was subjected to the LW show and Hee Haw growin up.... Sometimes this closing song goes through my head... "Good night, good night until we meet again..."..I've never shared that EVER with anyone 🤣🤣🤣🤣 It's interesting how our culture has changed regarding music... The older I get, the more I appreciate the older stuff...

You might Check out a 1950s R&B/Doo-Wop by the Spaniels, I think, titled "GOOD NIGHT, SWEETHEART" Born 1955 here, but was "subjected" to Ragtime, Blues, WELK, and "NuAwlens" Jazz by Grandparents, Big Bands & Swing by Dad, and 50s-70s Rock, then Folk by Older Siblings... 😊 LOTSA things on our Journey are Acquired by Tasting... ... Quaker Life Cereal 🥣 ad: "HEY! MIKEY LIKES IT!" THINKIN' WE COULD SPEND MORE TIME CHILLING OUT THERE AND LESS BEING OBTUSE, ANGRY AND THE PECKSNIFFIAN HYPERSENSITIVITY ABOUT PETTY STUFF... PICKING FLY TURDS OUT OF THE PEPPER 🧂😂. YOU HAD AND STILL HAVE AN OPEN MIND PLUS LIKELY ❤ TOO. YESSIR! PEACE BE WITH YOU...

It’s not surprising that the older generation talks about the “good old days.” While we do tend to look at the past through rose-colored glasses, I really do believe there was a more innocent time. It’s not just wishful thinking. Maybe “progress” in all its manifestations has outpaced our ability to cope. Things, put simply, have gotten too complicated. These days, if you get an ingrown toenail, you need to see a specialist. I’m kidding, of course, but that’s the point I’m trying to make. And, looking at the bigger picture, how can anyone have any peace of mind while being bombarded constantly by the media with a tsunami of information that we may or not care about or need to know? The words “civilized society” are a misnomer. The “good old days,” were just that. It’s not just old men talking. It’s a fact.
