Wow, there was an actual time when America had class and integrity 😲😲😲😲 something you rarely see nowadays, and the women were so much more beautiful back then compared to how fake and manufactured they look today

So rude of the group to interrupt Lawrence’s introduction.

Watched Lawrence every Saturday night with my parents. They even went to his show once and danced with other audience members. Even had lunch at his restaurant once with my mom and dad. The food was very good. It was at his mobile home court.

Led Zeppelin covered the same song, in the lost Zeppelin tapes, banned by religious groups all over the world, was considered satanic.

What year is this? The Sound of Music came out on Broadway in 1959 but the film, not till 1965. I don't see a lot of musicians from earlier shows.

For those of you who dismiss this kind of music as dated, corny, old fashioned and just plain bad, your torture is nearing an end ,most of the people in this video have passed on, and soon, most of the people watching. Soon you will get your wish, as this music and the people who enjoy it,will fade into obscurity. Videos will be completely dominated by Taylor Swift and her ilk, along with Rap music and all that follows. But while us seniors are still around, let us enjoy it.

I *cringe* at Lawrence Welk. This is a big exception. The band is lively and tight, and Bobby & Cissy are better than usual in this dance. I love it!

A great hit for The Stringalongs and Danish guitarist Jørgen Ingman. Chet Atkins recorded it as well. And many others.

I just love this show. Of course, as a kid in the 60s, whenever my grandmother - who lived with us and watched the program every week - would put it on, I would groan, make faces, and roll my eyes. But deep down, I recognized what a gem it was. The songs, like "Daddy", are timeless, as are the skits. 200+ cable stations on the set now, but I prefer watching KZbin, and LW is a big part of that attraction.

Amen to the grandmother comment. Mine loved Lawrence Welk and Mitch Miller and when we visited my grandparents my brothers and I sat through more of those shows than I’d care to recall. Now as a 70 year old man I so much appreciate these musicians immense talent and when he had the young couple who danced to this great song it was even more enjoyable. I’d love to have one more evening with my grandparents in their living room listening to music like this!

Saying “sweet Jesus” was the indicator that the song was okay. It was not a spiritual Lawrence.
