@nameless-channel I'm not forcing you to do that, sorry if it sounded pushy. It's just some things that DDS2 does really bothers me. Unlike DDS1 it doesn't give you a lot of freedom when it comes to playing with characters.

Countless games forcing players to control some low quality brainless goody2shoes Trash-Protags without any options to try the other side. Since the first time I tried first DDS years ago on actual console, first thing I wanted was to play as Heat during that story battle and destroy The Trash-Protag Serph for good. Can you make custom VR battle like I do here in Rebirth? Is there a mod for that? Can you fight against player characters - The Trash-Protags? Such as Trash-Tifa, Crap-Aerith or Zack The Cuck-Puppy? That is what I wanna see! I have not tried Rebirth yet.

Memory (RAM) editing. Use Cheat Engine/ArtMoney or similar. Here costume address for Cheat Engine I have used back then - 203C9E40 - add as 1 byte, tested on ps2 emulator 1.4 imgur.com/a/ny7kXHa 03 in blue is a costume. Only 04 in the row below is berserker mode, you also need to add it as 1 byte. Outfit values - 00 Guts usual, 01 no mantle, 02 bloody Guts, 03 armor skull version, 04 armor beast version etc. To get human Guts set berserker address to 07, to get Berserker mode to 04.

Multiplayer mode can be played solo, there is no need for a second player. This was recorded on emulator. I have ps vita, but never tested coop there. Solo mode for multiplayer works fine on both PC and Vita.

Take example from final chapter's data on how to control bosses and make player characters into custom enemies (ID 8, Middle ages uses 0, Prehistory 1 etc, next row in memory browser contains your player party). I love Boss Revenge gameplay, when you can destroy The Trash-Protagonists like low quality generic brainless cliche "hero" Oersted and control amazing boss chars.

Sadly official plans for Turks related unique scenario were all scrapped, which was mentioned by devs themselves game8.co/games/FF7-Remake/archives/286914 I'd just like to have a Boss Revenge Mode - where we fight against player characters as various bosses. FFXV already have great example - Kingly Clash, where you play as Ardyn and fight Noctis and his bros, it's legit best part of the game. Also FF4 AY have a fight against Cecil and his party, when you play through Golbez's story during the flashback. So FF franchise itself already giving us hints about how it should be done 😁

You unlock Kingly Clash as separate thing in the main menu of Ardyn's DLC, after you finish the story. It will be under options.

Just for this alone ToW3 RM is my fave title of the franchise. Come to think of it, Tales Of Rays finally added new stuff for Saleh, but it's custom arena mode only allows to recreate story battles from protags's PoV, looks like there's no the other side option... I defo do not wanna fight Saleh as Saleh, I want to kill Veigue and his party :-D

Rays got offline version, so you can try it now, not full game tho. Arena and tower. But if you're into re-making older Tales games moments in 3D, Rays may be a gem depending on which characters you'd like to control.

Well, feels good to do something from time to time. This fight was not one sided at all, one ultimate from The Trash-Protag Swin is taking about 100k. If he decides to spam it, which he can, protags can win. But then these are The Trash-Protagonists - disgusting pests shoved under player control, for this alone all them should suffer and die :-D

Thanks! I use cheat engine to edit game's memory (RAM). You'll need to change character and assign skills (NPCs won't respond to player actions like base combos, spell casting etc). Find player characters and rewrite them, make custom buttons with hotkey function (which will depend on device you're using - keyboard/controller etc). You can either use string scan or AoB scanning. Example - PC0000_00_Cloud - shows related stuff to basic Cloud unit, like his standard costume or alternative outfits. Some examples: player characters use PC00xx (Cloud 00, Barret 01, Tifa 02, Aerith 03, Red 04, Yuffie 05, Sonon 06), NPCs use NP00xx (Biggs is 00, Wedge is 01, Jess is 02 etc), enemies use EM or EB00xx (Sephiroth 21, Reno 03, Rude 05, Rufus 16, Nero 1004, Weiss 1005). Skills character's use have their name along. Skill names in the menus can be edited similarly (B.r.a.v.e.r - in AoB fromat 42 00 72 00 61 00 76 00 65 00 72). Many skills do not use in-game names however, so enter ID of an NPC character without name and check all the results to find skills which are usually scattered in the game's data. Some skills have asian names, so Japanese FF7 wiki will be helpful as well (Gokumon - Hell's Gate).

Atlus just need to stop shoving some goody2shoes Trash-Protagonists under player control and let players actually decide things, including protag removal for NG+ instead of useless outfits and DLC crossover music. For example in DDS games you can remove The Trash-Protagonist Serph from player team in many situations. Considering we have bosses like Jin properly scanning player party back in P3, CPU party members are just being dumb. A system like FF12 gambits would be a good thing to add regarding auto play. Altho I'd prefer having proper quality bad endings and evil routes first, so players could do cool evil things. P4G's "Bad Ending" was extremely lazy, without gameplay at all lol Victor's ending in Tales Of or Caligula's Lucid Route would be perfect examples - in P3R player should've had option to betray SEES and join Takaya, then destroy former friends in a final battle one after another with Strega as party members.

It is a custom battle - to control amazing villain Faulkner and destroy The Trash-Protagonist Bastion. It is doable using RAM editors, such as cheat engine/artMoney etc. For mecha editing you need to go into mecha equip menu and change stones. imgur.com/a/9sVhkLF Opal is 0C, as you can see in blue, Jasper is 0D, Ruby is 0E etc, just change 3 these stones for example with scaning 0C-0D-0E, then go into memory viewer. Number after stone (22) & several 22 numbers before make Haurol, several 03 numbers is Alba. Change them to change mecha. 00 is Ultragunner, Zulvarn is 01, TitTac is 02, Alba is 03, Serata is 04, Waiban is 07, Solaris is 08, Sarbelas 09, etc. Similar AoBs can be used to change mechs for enemies. Here example for Faulkner - 1C 1D 1F 1D 1B 1D. Just translate any unit stats into Hex format and scan as AOB type in similar fashion. 2. Use memory editor to scan stats as a single array of bytes. 3. Right click results you get & browse memory. 4. Look one row above. What I show in red is control info - 2 numbers. 0101 - enemy, 0001 AI ally, 0000 player unit, 0200 side player char, 0201 side enemy. Search data around to find all other units. You can see if trick working by checking units info, enemies will become blue & allies will take red colour. Go into shop, use any char & scan numbers, just mechas you currently have go. I used Reyna, as you can see, Alba is first in a row, so it for me is 00, she equpped with Haurol, it is 01, as you can see in blue. First Ratatosk will be 02, second 03 etc, just as your current mechas go. Equip them and scan 1 byte value with right number. 0C in blue is Reyna portrait. You can simply subtract 14 from currently equpped mecha address.
