Seems clear that he struggled with some things. I don't think it's helpful to endorse theories about his death in the absence of evidence. He reportedly had drug problems and died of an overdose. The vampire ideas might be brought about by the extreme levels of inequality in society, not sure if he was ever employed. Apparently these ideas started very early in his life. It's not easy being human in this day and age (not that it ever was).
