I think in Spanish we need to borrow some Italian words for body parts. Fingers, wrist, hip and kidneys. And vice versa for ears.

I'm not familiar with the English name you used for what looks like a fig, which you call Smochinå in Romaninan.

Yes, “smochină” is “fig” - you’re right, it looks like I missed the English name in the video 😊

A lot of fruits and vegetables have a different name in nearly all or all Latin language countries. Like Apple for instance. Vanata (sorry no accents) or Eggplant in English is also different name in every other Latin language.

Great observation! 😊 How many languages do you speak? I can see you’re interested in Latin languages and comparing them.

@@LanguageswithGeorgiana Just Spanish and English. The others I just know bits and pieces. Can probably understand Italian most followed by Portuguese then French. Romanian I'm just barely getting to know a bit and seems like nouns (except fruits and veggies) are more similar to me than French, especially pronunciation, but fruits, veggies, adjectives and adverbs are probably same level of recognition as French, about 20 to 25 %
@johns6795

Seems like Italian, Spanish and Portuguese are largely evolved or devolved Latin while French has stronger other language influences (Germanic maybe, though some say also Gaelic/Celtic..?) in words and pronunciation as appears to be the case with Romanian (Slavic maybe..?)

Nouns share a lot of similarity to other latin languagues like Spanish around 75%, adjectives and adverbs less so maybe 25%, maybe more slavic terms..?

Wow. The common nouns share a lot of similarity with Spanish nouns. Seems like the Slavic influence is more on the descriptions.

Interesting that the sounds of the letters in words are similar to Spanish and English but in the alphabet you guys take out the vowel sounds of the letters. Like T in Spanish is pronounced te or R ere, but in Romanian t and rr. The exceptions seem to be letters not used in normal Romanian and only used for borrowed words like Q cue or kiu.
@johns6795

As a Spanish speaker I understood about 20-30%. But it would be less without written words and without the English equivalent.

Although I'm Italian and Italy is full of Rumenians, in almost 40 life years I never stopped to consider how beautiful this language actually sounds. Last week I randomly listened some Rumenian music on youtube and fell in love with the Arabic-like melodies and how your language is actually a melody itself. Very underestimated and a great member of our bigger Latin family! I would say the most beautiful sounding Latin language with Italian, way more than French, Portuguese and Spanish (no offense, it's just personal taste).

I was watching a video on KZbin when I saw your channel. I noticed one thing: Your content is excellent but your video views are decreasing. Then, I researched your channel and found that your video's SEO score is terrible. If you can do SEO-friendly things for your channel and videos then your KZbin channel and videos will develop rapidly. If you want, I can help you grow your KZbin channel. I have emailed you about this. I have said it in detail there, you can take a look at it.

Italian and Romanian do share some words but not to the point the 2 would be mutually intelligible. While a Romanian may understand some individual words from Italian, when it comes to more complex phrases, things change drastically and it's no longer so obvious .You should have included the French as well in your analysis. Romanian has had quite a few word loans from French (made mainly in the late 19-th century and early 20-th one).

Hi, Georgiana! GREAT video. You’re such a good teacher! I recently solo traveled to Italy and want to get a tattoo as a memento of the experience. I was thinking about “andare.” Just as an encouragement to always GO, to take that adventure and not have any regrets. Would “andare” be grammatically correct?

@@LanguageswithGeorgiana In siciliano l'arancia è chiamata "portuallu".

@@LanguageswithGeorgiana1. In siciliana si in calabreza exita cuvintele nicu respectiv miccu care înseamna mic ca in româna.
