Because you have such great ideas and so many wonderful hacks, I was wondering if you've ever made a tree stump or anything a with bark look.

From one designer to another, you do some amazing work. I'm totally loving the sunflower. Where did you get black straws with a white center?
@janesawyermakes4 күн бұрын
I don't remember. I think a restaurant gave them too me, but I don't like paper straws to drink with, do I saved them for crafting!

Amazing, as a newbie at paper mache (but not designing and creating) Im so impressed. Do you do stuff for commercials?
@janesawyermakesКүн бұрын
I've never done anything for commercials. I live in a very small town in central Ontario - not a lot of commercial production going on here! 🤣

As a designer, thank you for inspiring me to paper mache for the first time in 50 years. I was a child and in school the last time I did it. I forgot all about it, but you got me going again! With my event rentals, I decided to create a fake rock. While I'm doing it the messy way, (don't mind the messy hands) your tips and tricks were so helpful. Question, have you ever put mortar or quick cement over paper mache? I'm thinking the glue should protect the cardboard. I'll just give the top more layers. The cement only goes a half inch thick (according to my other KZbin trainer). I rent artificial woods (trees, shrubs, grasses, flowers) and I thought it would be so cool to learn how to make boulders. I'm starting out small to practice. Thank you for inspiring me!

I've never put cement on paper maché, but I thing Jonni from Ultimate Paper Maché has some info on that! Best luck!

Why could you not leave the bark on the real log?
@janesawyermakes7 күн бұрын
it would fall off. There is a way to harvest wood so that the bark doesnt fall off, but I have no idea when this tree was cut, so safer to take it off. 😊

Thank you so much. I knew there had to be a better way than the sloppy, dripping flour and water method. This is much preferrable to the craft mess I remember from childhood. I use junk mail, old bill receipts from 2 years ago, greeting card envelopes, etc. for the base paper. It does my heart good to keep wastepaper out of the landfill and into something useful.

This literally has so many cool creative tricks in one video, the baking soda, glue sticks, gloss mixed with paint, using boards as a whole structure, so sick. Especially everything being dollar store! I bet you could even do an elevated version where you stick a small strip of leds on the inside and could make the crystals glow!

Never throw foam waste away again! Vacuum it into its own bag. The sanding bits can be added to other foam (like expanding foam or foam clay) as filler or used as flocking. Larger bits can be used as small forms, spacers, or ground up in a coffee grinder to also be used as flocking.
