I have my probable solutions to the paradox. ...one. any theories we might have are inherently flawed because everything we measure and assume is based upon what we experience in Sol system. And theres alot here we haven't thoroughly explored and wont for thousands or more years. Conditions vary in infinite and unpredictable ways under a different star. And so, our theorizing is useful as just making up stories basically. Two, what if carbon based life is more than rare...what if its an experiment being carried out by a truly advanced civilization that are incorporeal by comparison? What if, we are just a single part of an undeveloped planet organism due to hatch or metamorph in millions of years. And last, what if, the dark matter that seems to be much of the unobservable universe is really a veil blocking us from seeing what's really going on.
