My mechanic gave me a tuneup. he changed my spark plugs, but the engine light comes on every once in a while still. Does he need to reset something?

@@billieschultz1352 you need to check and see why the engine light is coming on AutoZone does it for free Pep Boys does it for free or … if the light is still coming on, that means there’s something else wrong… about seven months after that, my engine started acting funny because that four year period for those motors were a bad year and the dealership I went to replace my motor for free

@@cvklacvkla how do you remove the plastic lid so I can install the ignition coil just curious if I just pull it off or is there any nuts and bolts somewhere I need to release it from ?

I hope so too, but I end up having to change out my motor this year. They had bad motors and the dealership replace it for free because I had 100,000 mile warranty.

If the problem persist, you have to replaice the 4 coils. My gf car has these issues and pep boys wants 700 to do the spark plugs and cools. Forget that, I found you lol. Thanks for the upload.

Did you ever have the problem of it randomly cutting off, and then have to put in park and then re crank? With the code ignition 1 switch circuit 2

No mine never cut off it just lack power and the same thing will be happening with the stability track to your truck but may cause different symptoms so the best bet is to take it to like an AutoZone or a auto parts store and get the codes ran it will tell you exactly what’s wrong

Thanks for the video! I might actually give this a try as the shop wants close to $500 to do it. I'm not the most savvy guy when it comes to working on my car beyond doing an oil change, so I'm just worried about the plugs breaking when I'm taking them out & putting them in. Have you ever had any issues taking out plugs or do they generally come out pretty easy?

My stabilitrak lights were coming on - I discovered it was because one of my tires developed a bump in it, and that caused the light to go on on my dash. I replaced the two front tires, the ride improved, and the stabilizer light has not come on again...

Sounds like this engine has a lifter noise….that ticking. Or is it just amplified from the video quality?

Like someone commented before, looks lo ke theres a bunch of fails that make stabilitrack and reduced engine power warnings and go off. In my case for 2012 Traverse it was coils 2 & 5, fixed them and changed all 6 spark plugs, a week later warnings went off again and started blowing more smoke than a forest fire, checked the snorkel type canister afyer the Axel body and had a bit off oil, some say it adds a lot off oil some times but wasnt the case, so i just reseted codes by disconectong the battery, reconected and its been runnig smooth a week now. Conclusion: its a tricky MF truck

I'm not sure did you get your light check and when it came to my truck I had needed to change the coil it was the number two coil for me

Check the fuse box under the hood the 2 bolts inside the box come lose so the connectors underneath don't hold firm enough plus electrical grounds under hood

FIXED! My 2014 gmc acadia slt was showing traction control off and service stabilitrak after just a few mins of driving after about 35mph if I accelerated more than 1/3 throttle the truck would cut power in quick intervals making the drivetrain shake hard. So after finding that my brake switch sensor was always triggering the lights to be on and it had to do with the slack that built up over the years in my brake peddle... changing the sensor wouldn't fixed the problem... so I added a small piece of plastic to the sensor to fix the problem. I've been driving it alot over the last few weeks with zero problems! Hope this helps someone.

I found out why mine would do that was the break pedal is lose where you step on the break the break pedal does not come up all the way where it still touches the break pedal position sensor which cause the break lights to be lit up and if you don't lift it up it will set the traction control off found that out driving at night noticing my break lights where on
