My family has Cherokee on both sides and someday I hope to get our rights back My wifes grandma was also Cherokee her uncle told me if we ever went to Oklahoma not to tell anybody but im not afraid. My grandmother said the same thing dont tell nobody. Ive been doing ancestry and have found my grandfather was kin to Doublehead on dads side my grandma on dads side was a Lowe her mom was a Hicks Her mom was a Lester the Hicks Line go back to Nathaniel and Na Ya Hi Ani Waya. acordinng to other family lines But I am stuck at James and Lucinda Hicks Wayne co Ky.James came from N.C.1800 he wrote a book of Cherokee family and stuff But I haven't found his parrents for sure.I am kin to Martha and Peter Skaggs on moms side the town of Martha Ky is named after her theres more that im finding but I haven't. found everyone yet. Ive also found other in my family to many to list if anyone Knows these names and has any actual. records of James and Lucinda. Or Martha Skaggs please contact me. Just want my familys rights.

Thanks for the advice.But I have to keep looking for my family blood line my 4th grandma Was Almira Brown her dad Was George W Brown her mom was a Cole she died Fort Bend Texas 1853 George died in Kansas later Almira was 1/2 cherokee they say but l have not found records they were from Casey co Ky. Almira m. a Stratton and stayed in Ky. I only want to have my rights for religious purposes don't. care about the other stuff.
