You can see MAIKO’s choreography at many Kyary Pamyu Pamyu MV. Especially in “Ninja Re Bang Bang”, MAIKO played the mocap actor for “the girl bear ninja”. P.S. “Masked Kyary double” in “CANDY CANDY” MV is MAIKO’s husband KITE. So, her name is Masai Maiko now. P.P.S. MIZYU, the leader of ATARASHII GAKKO! had joined the Kyary dancers for 3 years in her childhood. She developed her dance skills by MAIKO’s choreo…

I have very hard time understanding the ApRef(Action Pack Reference) thing. 1. Is it similar to the character root bone? 2. How is the root Motion Handled during an IGC? 3. Is all the character/Actor/Object in that specific IGC is child to same the ApRef? 4. Do you also animate ApRef? Can you please give an example. Let say Drake bashing a gate(In drake fortune), How would be the whole IGC played at runtime? And the role of ApRef to that in details. Or like two character take down IGC.

It's crazy how much of the sound design never changed, and how you can already see, like... final product animations being used on the dummies already.

Softimage XSI, was pretty common on Jap. games in the early and mid 2000s ( you can see it in others like Capcom games ) , useful, robust, scalable and fast.. but was a big problem for Autodesk ( owners of Maya ) , because you could do more work with less people ( licenses) so when they found a chance they bought it, and then they killed it after a while, and forced everyone to Go into Maya.

This game was so impressive. I can only imagine how much of the polish and natural look was down to the detail work done by the animation lead, and how she mentioned manually tweaking details so that it looked real, compared to things like the blend shapes and mova on Rise of the Tomb Raider, which looks very uncanny valley and procedurally generated, with the main character not even looking the same. I see a lot of the same "amorphous clay bag of oatmeal" look in Starfield as well, and much prefer when the character designers and animators use technology that works and had refined work done, rather than unfinished technology. Adventure game companies like Quantic Dream seem to have a much better handle, and take greater care with this, to noticeably better result.

Huh, isn't it perfect, where she just danced like herself, leaving everyone enthralled yet still a bit pissed off by her? That's just like Bayonetta would do to people. Well, at least it was my experience, she was so corny and cheeky and I just couldn't bring myself to hate her.

Were the animations synced with the voice actors like FF7 remake? Or was it dubbed with it only being synced against Japanese VAs?
