You can check your ship’s cargo directly from your ship from the interface where you can select Inventory, Map, Skills and Ship- there’s no need to go back to your ship. You can transfer directly from there into your inventory if you are in range.

Thanks for pointing that out, Steve, I do play pretty immersively, don't I? After reading your advice I did a little test, and it appears 250 meters is as far as I can go and still have access to my ship's inventory. If anyone needed to make a change to their loadout and were parked within 250 meters, it would be really handy to change gear or grab extra supplies. That makes it pretty important to keep your ship's inventory below its limit, so you can put gear back into the hold instead of leaving it behind or becoming needlessly encumbered. One could collect goodies from the loot boxes and immediately store them away.

@@brightvalley yes, the range is 250, but you can change that in the new game difficulty settings. You can limit it to having to be in the ship or make it an unlimited distance.

What's the point in speedrunning it? You'll make a lot more on loot if you kill everybody and take everything.

Starfield is a sandbox game, allowing players to tackle the challenges in any of a variety of ways. Speedruns are just one of those. Not everyone enjoys running and gunning, and frankly any of the other attempts I've watched (that I can think of) always seem to start by going in the front door and slogging through the gauntlet. Frankly, going in the back door and stealing them blind without firing a shot is a novel way of approaching some objectives (and collect some adequate bling in the process). I'm showing players what is possible, and for those who enjoy the slogging, it's okay too.

I get that you're trying to make things difficult by taking a level 5 character into a level 75 system, but it seems like only healing yourself to half health in a gunfight is a giant flaw in your strategy for those first few deaths.

Yep, I make plenty of mistakes, and I may even learn from them eventually. I do enjoy showing players things I've discovered in my games, such as laser turrets weren't shooting at me when I was hiding behind a ladder, and enemies can't see me hiding in the toilet. Like yourself, I'm an older player who has enjoyed video games for nearly fifty years. Starfield has been a lot of fun so far, and I'm looking forward to the DLC soon.

I have found the Lab both marked as a POI which you can see from orbit, and as a random encounter when you land somewhere. I'm not aware of any restrictions to where it can be found, so I'll just generalize by saying it could be on any planet or moon you visit.

Howdy BV! I really enjoyed watching your gameplay. You give good, relaxing commentary. However, I thought I'd point out that you actually went to a random, unlabeled point of interest instead of the Meteorite Testing Site. If you go back in this footage at 1:10 you'll notice that the meteor testing site is behind your ship. When you follow the heading marker, you walk where your ships nose is pointing which was actually an entirely different POI that isn't labeled till you discover it. Anyway..if you want maybe you could go back and record discovering the REAL meteorite testing site ;)

It's odd to me too that on one visit the ships come left and right, and on another visit there's nothing.

Since the patch I've seen no ships landing I had a ship land once. It was a starborn type IV which i was so close was able to get to the door and enter it. Other than that nothing. Otherwise it's all space encounters. They basically ruined a perfectly fine game by patching it the way they did.

I have not found any ships landing anymore. On discord someone said to walk 200 meters but I have gone 1000 meters and no ships land.
