first and second method the group button is grayed out, third option my computer makes a weird noise

Close and open the PPT file again. Make sure the shapes or pictures are selected. After closing the file, restart the PC before you open the file

This doesn't group them, it simple takes a screenshot of a select area and pastes it as a picture.

Thanks and appreciate your comment. In OneNote software we do not actually group shapes and pictures as compared to Ms Word and Ms PowerPoint. What I showed in the video is a temporal and permanent grouping of objects. Welcome to this community.
