I actually think receiving it in your hands is better, because you can make a sort of throne with your hands. Jesus is the King of Kings, after all. You can't do that with your tongue.

Excellent job! Now to hear this piece executed in the liturgy and not just for an uploaded video, go to the Benedictine Monks of Fontgombault in France. They are of the Solesmes Congregation and following the line of Dom Gueranger's reform of Sacred Music. I think they are THE BEST monastery in the world when it comes to chant and I don't say that lightly. I've only heard the recordings. So compared to the Power of the Holy Ghost working on the hearts live within the Sacred Liturgy of the abbatial church...that cannot be described because it is the closest thing to Heaven on this side of eternity. But this Signum Magnum Introit isn't a particularly outstanding piece. What I mean by that is when hearing it, I don't just immediately say, "this is the best piece of chant I've ever heard in my entire life." It honestly sounds like a lot introits during the liturgical year. However, for the Solemn High Mass of the Assumption at Fontgombault (their Patronal Feast Day at that) is the best execution of a piece of chant. I didn't say that for a long time, but I kept finding myself coming back to it which is how I know it's the best version. I even read somewhere that recording is from the 70s which blew me away even more because of the quality of it. Anyway, enough from me. God bless y'all and Our Lady, assumed into Heaven, keep y'all in Her Immaculate Heart!

The English translation according to the slides in this video... I find it easier to pray than the rhyming one we sing in church. Come Creator spirit, visit the souls of thy people, Fill with grace from on high the hearts which thou has created. Thou who are called the Comforter, gift of the most high God, living fount, fire, love and unction of souls. Sevenfold in thy gifts, finger of the Father's right hand, Thou promised truly by the Father, giving speech to tongues. Inflame our senses with thy light, pour thy love into our hearts, strengthen our weak bodies with lasting power. Drive far away the enemy, grant peace at all times; so under thy guidance may we avoid all evil. Grant us by thee to know the Father and to know the Son, and thee, Spirit of both, may we always believe. To God the Father be glory, to the Son who rose from the dead and to the Comforter, for all ages. Amen.

Thank you for redeeming the greatness of this song, and it's efficacy , from the vast cacophony of modern tunes. Absolutely gives primacy to Jesus . It just snatches the mind and makes it focus on our Great God and Savior.

The videos help, but I think the refrains should be simpler so as to get the faithful to sing. Often, I am the only one singing along at Mass.
