Hi, I am following the link to download the file from your website for my M10 dual but I only see a link to the pro version. Help much appreciated!

hey! where is the 4th video?
@jaypearson744123 күн бұрын
Any chance you can run a demo showcasing Artisan PID automated roasting and the settings? I have tried a number of times, but cannot figure out the PID and background profile/settings to use and then modify for various beans. A video like that would really showcase what Kaleido machines and Artisan can be capable of.

Eventually will do

Per usual, fantastic content. Packed with detail but condensed into a single digestible lesson that I will review multiple times. I find myself reviewing previous lessons and then look forward to the next lesson. You are building a full course curriculum here and it is so helpful that you break it down in these stages. I would pay for this type of a course.

Thanks for the video! exited to see the 4 video ;)

My M2 bean probe reads about 30° lower than the actual temperature. I charge at 275°F and have a turning point at around 50-55 seconds. Is it better to get used to my own temperatures, or is there a way to make the adjustment in Artisan?
@kaleidoroasters25 күн бұрын
You can program an offset, adjust probe depth, or possibly replace the probe.
@greggholt154625 күн бұрын
Barrett, fantastic content. Exactly what I need as a new Kaleido owner. Simple to understand breakdown with clear targets to achieve. Rather than dictate temperatures you spelled out the goal which is to get a TP in 45-60 seconds. That was what I needed to know. Now I can work to master the details to achieve that. Outstanding!
@greggholt154625 күн бұрын
Also: I really appreciate the "small bites" education. I can take this lesson and build on it as your series progresses. So often there is just too much detail in videos to absorb.

Not the gospel but its a good spot to try to hit to avoid roasting defects and maintain roast momentum.

Great video, Barrett! You mention cleaning the resin that has built up on the face plate. Is that something that should be tended to on the drum and inner chamber as well with a solvent like Simple Green? Seems like it might build up over time whereas a regular maintenance routine might make cleaning a little easier.
@kaleidoroasters25 күн бұрын
Not required in the roasting chamber. Probably not really required elsewhere unless there is a lot of buildup. IE your drum is rubbing, trier is gummed up, door gummed up. Would not recommend simple green personally. Probably cafitza on the face is needed.

no, you reuse the holder.

Every time I review this clip I pull out some more detail that increases my confidence in the software and the roaster. Fantastic stuff here and it just accelerates my desire to roast more. The good news is that my friends and family are quite willing to accept free roasted coffee to support my habit!

Barrett, you showed the % in grey/while bars... You can also go to config/events and select "combo" for markers and it will show the % numbers.

Hello, just got an M10 after about a year of owning the M1. I did some benchmark roasts and have been seeing that my parameters on the M10 are lower compared to the M1. For instance my FC on the M1 is at around 196C whereas on the M10 FC happens at around 180C. Is this normal? Is there a way to adjust the probe or Artisan to recalibrate or will I just have to get used to these new parameters?
@kaleidoroasters28 күн бұрын
Your charge temps, charge weights, etc will have a big impact on how the beans roast. Having used all 4 sizes, they are all different and respond differently to power. I use different charge temps, etc.

I'm using an older Macbook on OS Monterey and latest version of Artisan to connect to an M2. It's a bit tweaky to connect each time I roast, but I'm developing a pattern that is getting faster each time and gaining more confidence. Every time I roast on the M2 I can't wait to roast again. There is a learning curve for sure, but getting the basics only requires making a few mistakes. I'm beginning to feel some confidence in my control of the roaster and the key benchmarks to look for and mistakes to avoid. M2 with Artisan is legit. Barrett and Espresso Outlet are fantastic.

Using a Magnetic Allen wrench would have helped getting the faceplate screws back in. Also can the drum and front plate be cleaned using Cafiza to remove the burnt on oils?
@kaleidoroastersАй бұрын
You can pull the drum and front plate and scrub with cafiza. Works great. Don't recommend using inside the roaster.

Manufacturer chemical treatment process to force rust, and then neutralize the metal to stop the rust. Sealed with a clear coating.

There is nothing I dislike about my new M1. It is super powerful with its dual burners and the most I ever need to use is 60% heat.
@LivingTheLifeRetired5 ай бұрын
Great thanks. As you know the new M1s have two elements and it’s a beast. I never have to go above 60% power to roast.

Nope...doesn't work. Just says Kaleido disconnected. This has yet to work
@kaleidoroastersАй бұрын
It will say disconnected, artisan has to request connection. Download the latest version. if that does not work, you do not have correct com port.

I am so disgusted with my Kaliedo roaster. It was a christmas present and it has been nothing but crap. I have questions and need a little bit of help getting the machine configured. But there is no, zero, none, support. No phone number, no email, nothing. Right now, i turn on the artisan software and the SV slider is set at 250 deg F max. You cannot roast anything when the roaster wont go above 250 degrees. This slider needs to be set to work between 0-450 degrees f. I cannot figure out how to raise the max temp on the SV slider. Where can I get some help? My wife bought me this roaster for Christmas but right now its an $1800 piece of junk.
@BWtheHD4 ай бұрын
There's a "control" button on the top right, after press it , you'll see a pop up screen, and there's a "set value" or "SV" allows you to put in min & max numbers in the box.
@kaleidoroastersАй бұрын
Sounds like user error. If you are starting the roast at 250 it will error. If you purchased from us, we would have assisted. Sounds like you purchased elsewhere.

How often we need to clean the drum? Every day? Or after few roasts?
@kaleidoroasters10 ай бұрын
Not a straight forward answer for this. Each bean will produce different amounts of chaff and oils. Average person roasting, as long as you dump chaff bin, every few months. If more commercially, definitely more often.

Is there a way for us to find which board version we have?
@kaleidoroasters10 ай бұрын
As of right now, I do not think there is a way. Possibly they look a tad different but I have not figured out yet. More or less, if its the older model its board B, if its the Gen 2 Sealed, its board C. There might be a few out there with old build design and new board, as some people have purchased and swapped
