Fantastic vid mate. What is it like driving over there? We will be staying in Luosto but driving to Rovaniemi, I have never driven on the right side b4, it will also be dark, slippery and I will have no clue where I am going…. Apart from that I should be fine! 😂
@thewaaijersАй бұрын
Hi thank you! Actually driving is easy there and the roads are not slippery. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Just be mindful about the small window of daylight and then you carefully plan your activities within that window! Have fun!

You were so brave in your activities. The trick is always to spend so much time outside in the cold and then to be so happy to come inside, cook, heat and go to sauna. And a remote location like that is always relaxed enough to do things at one's own time.
@thewaaijers8 ай бұрын
Absolutely - Lapland is one of the best places to experience what you described. Are you from Finland?

And there is nothing to do when the sun is not up ? Very strange for a Finnish ? One BBC interviewer asked once the Lapp , what are you doing during the midsummer time ? He said : we are fishing and making love . Then ha asked again .....? And in winter time . The Lapp answered ... not fishing .

you can do the same things when it's dark as what you'd do when the sun is up

Just because there is no sunlight doesn't mean there's nothing to do. In lapland they sometimes only have 3 hours where its slightly bright but you can still do everything besides that. As long as the time is daytime

13:15 Did you know, that there is a 1,5 km long sledding hill from top of Kaunispää fell (where that restaurant 14:00 was) down to the Saariselkä village! And it's free too! :) Been there many times and have a good food there first and then sledding down to the village. But then there wasn't that cold...🥶

Thanks for the comment! It was honestly rough, choppy seas and overcrowded on board. Also it quite long from Bali - more than 2.5hrs! We will probably never do this again as Bali has plenty of beautiful areas anyway!

How do you manage travelling with the kids and luggage? I've watched a few of your videos and I'd love to do a tour of Italy but we have 4 kids including a baby trying to work out if it's possible...
@thewaaijers10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! For Capri it was tough as you can’t bring too much luggage. We actually left our luggage in our rental car which we parked at the ferry, which costed a fortune to leave there for 2 nights But in general, we pack 2 large suitcases - one for us parents and one for the kids. Then small extra bags. That way it will always fit in a rental car (usually we do SUV or station wagons). But yeah, it’s always going to be a challenge/workout lugging baggage and kids around!! Good luck on your travels!

Is safe to walk with kids? Is easy to take a taxi? OMG I want to go to Paris with my 4 years old child but my concern is how to walk with him through Paris…
@thewaaijers Жыл бұрын
Hi Georgina, it's actually super safe to walk around with kids. Just be prepared for a lot of walking! We brought a scooter for our 4y old daughter at the time which can easily be folded and is super handy. Also good to install Uber and use this to hop in and out of cabs if the kids are tired. Paris is one of the nicest cities to visit so have fun!
