Nice! Solid swing. Good tune. Dig the improvography at the end.

This is AMAZING! Thanks so much for sharing 🙏🙏 But I can't believe they laid that cheesy music over the hoofer's line improv. What the heck. No wonder the show was canceled XD

I came to NYC in the late 80’s and the tap jams were literally a whole night of trades with live music in a room called ‘Tap Works.’ That was a group of tap dancers who rented a room ( not a dance studio) and split the monthly bill and divided the time up to rehearse. The jam sessions were a lot like the session in ‘Tap,’ with all the old timers hanging out and participating in the circle. But the sessions lasted 3-4 hours!

We brought him to NYC as a FloBert Honoree and he was awesome! Then we brought him to SunnCity West I think it was 2018 to do an entire set on his own with pianist/ composer Harry Middleton. Thank you for doing this lmk if you’d like footage of those shows! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Thank you for sharing this. I have only just recently gotten to the point in my tap dance journey where I am examining the structure of music so this is so perfectly timed. And thank you for the Chuck Green clip. I've always been enthralled by his dancing. I'll admit I hadn't known him very well until I watched No Maps on my Taps, but he's been one of my favorites since then. There's something vulnerable about his dancing that speaks to me. Not sure vulnerable is the right word but I can't think of anything better.

When Chuck was in his last days, we went to visit him in a nursing home on 125th St in Harlem. He was curled up in bed… we couldn’t tell if he had passed he was so deep in slumber. We put a cassette tape of Peg Leg dancing on and Chuck sat up quickly bopping his head and said, “Man that’s good!”
