Welcome back, glad to see a new video from you out on Lake Arthur and North Park Lake. We are lucky with the amount of fishable water in our back yards. I'm from the South Hills and can hit numerous bodies of water with my kayak within an hours drive. Congrats on that birds nest you had. If you would have gotten that on the Mon you may have had our resident bald eagles take it over for their new nesting site.

I'm also a South Hills guy 👍There's just enough water around to keep me busy thats for sure. 🤣 Yeah I think they wouldve been proud to nest in that.

The allegheny just has too little float access. Franklin to Fisherman's Cove is the most obvious and convenient to float and it gets HAMMERED with kayakers. Who know if maybe someday we can get a more closely spaced access above Oil City instead of the 13 mile hump from President.

Hey Drew, nice meeting you at 528 launch 8/15/24. Can't compete with your set up, but not complaining. Would like to see more current content. Keep up the good work 👍. Now subbed. Greg.

Nice to meet you Greg! I'm getting around to making the 2024 content here eventually. Might be releasing it during the winter so I have something to do while it sucks outside. See you out on the lake!

Too much fishing pressure these days. I think that KZbin plus Covid caused all of the extra pressure. I used to catch way more quality 15-20” bass there.
@HawkFishingandOutdoors3 ай бұрын
Agreed. Last time I went there was in 2023, all we could get was 8-10in bass.

@@dalbert4991 A few! Got some nice fish up in Canada, and took a trip to the finger lakes region where I got my first tiger muskie.

Sorry to miss your comment, this was right near Bolton and the islands east of it across the lake. Hope you did well!

You gotta wait on those top water bites. I know… It’s hard. Make sure they have it, and then grip it and rip it.

What type and size kayak do you prefer on pymatuning? I’m curious to hear your thoughts on the size of kayak relative to the size and conditions of a lake like pymatuning
@HawkFishingandOutdoors8 ай бұрын
I think a longer kayak is probably nicer in general, especially for bigger water that can get rough. I have a Slayer Max 10 because I can lift it and get it around behind my house, but I'd probably go for a 12ft kayak if I was in any other situation. So, you can absolutely do it in a shorter kayak, but you'd probably enjoy it more on a longer one.

I live in central Ohio and have never been to Presque. I hear April and May is the time to go, any advice? I have a Bass Tracker 165 with just a 9.9 on the back, I hear misery bay stays pretty calm?
@HawkFishingandOutdoors9 ай бұрын
Yo! That is absolutely the time to go. You'd be plenty safe in and around Misery Bay with a small boat, since it's pretty shallow. If the wind isn't bad, a bit south of that there are plenty of rock piles scattered around in 10-14ft, find em and keep throwing stuff at them, youll def get smashed!

Merry Christmas brother. I'm heading to Florida the first of the year here. Going to set my RV up right next to Roland Martin. I'm so lucky. I haven't met him yet but he is staying at a private campground that I stayed at last year. Best bass lake in the United States Stick Marsh and headwaters lake. Is the headwaters of the St John's River. You can Google his site it's called what's happening Roland. He has a site he updates weekly. He uses the camp as a base for his guide service

I always enjoy your videos from Lake Arthur. I give you credit for sticking it out, my teeth were chattering just thinking about being out on a day like that. FYI, I came across a map that I forgot I had. It was published in Sept. 1970 through the state. Not only is it a true topo map of Lake Arthur and the surrounding area. It also shows every creek bed and every road bed. I will be spending the off season plotting next years prime locations. Have a Great Holiday Season! Thanks again for sharing your videos.

Nice find! I started by looking at the map they have on the state website. Let me know if you ever do find them out deeper, and thanks for watching!

@HawkFishingandOutdoors Жыл бұрын
Between the south side launch and the 10th st bridge it's a max of maybe 18 feet? By the bridge pilings it's prob 6-8ft or so. The river isn't too bad for fishing, but when it gets busy I just don't want to be there, lol.

It's certainly pretty! A lot of it was really shallow towards the southern end, I spent a lot of time looking for water that was deeper than 3ft. I think it could be fun to fish, but there is a lot of wide open space to cover to figure out where they are!
