Okay, so after much scene skipping I will say this: ML wasn't entirely a scumbag, he was just useless which makes him somewhat of a scumbag. Their morals and principles to filial piety was why he was allowing his mother to be the loudest bitch in the room a lot (and for their ancient times, that's just how it was so what are us modern thinkers to do about it 🤷‍♀). ML was also forced to marry the green tea because it was an imperial decree - I doubt homeboy's entire family would have survived if he didn't. While I felt bad for the original FL, she was spineless and just as useless, making her one of my least liked. Because how the hell are you supposedly going to have such a pure heart but be dumb of ass. Literally. You deserve your MIL stepping all over you at this point because you ALLOWED it. I had to view this from the new FL's pov and not really take into account what happened in the past to spineless original FL.

But not just in case of being betrayed, even if you stay with a loyal person, nobody should depend their whole livelihood on another person (well, there are always exceptions such as underage children and some type of mental or physical disabled people). Because between tomorrow and death/bad fortune, no one knows which will come first. I also agree about not believe in love and promise. They exist, but not absolute. But ofc it's not just men's. There are also bad women and good men out there, just as many bad men and good women exist. So, be careful of the bad ones, ladies and gentlemen.

This was brilliant! For being a condensed version, it was expertly done and fleshed out without all the ridiculous over the top added fluff. This, this, this is the expert level of petty that should be a part of every revenge plot! This FL was a queen in planning the scumbag husband's demise. Her use of the doctor was next level and the gleeful expression as he set the electrocution machine had me cackling. Making that jackass and his mother look insane was a top level move. This is one of the best rebirth/revenge plots I've seen, was quite enjoyable and will definitely go on the must watch again list.

Why, in the name of all that's good in the world, are the song lyrics subtitled but not the actual dialogue? And at really crucial parts! My Mandarin is very limited and I can't really keep up with the real subs so half of what is being said is a complete mystery to me. I love these actors, I love this play, I love this version. Just wish that I knew more of what's actually being said rather than scanning for the characters I know and using inference.
