Austin has evolved somewhat. Per my mom who was bone in 1928, it was quite difficult to live in Austin as a minority. So an observation coming from a woman of color is accurate. That being said your assessment of living in Austin is quite accurate. Just take into account the great migration of people from other states which has caused a great amount of unforeseen problems in housing,food prices etc. So as you said if these things don’t bother you and you can deal, I would say so for it. For the most part, people born and raised in Texas are friendly and are neighborly. Good Luck to you and welcome to Texas!
