When my father died he left his house to me and my siblings. We have to put house up for sale. We actually have a buyer from South Carolina two weeks when put on the market. Her loan was approved she brought new flooring to put in house . Now because she has a claim with an insurance company in South Carolina she has been denied insurance in Florida. How is that possible!

@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters sorry for the confusion. I filed a claim for a roof replacement. It was approved but there is a $14,400 deductible, minus the depreciation, the claim turned out to end up being a $0 claim. And now the insurance company wants me to use their roofing company who hasn't come to give an estimate I said with such a high deductible and I'm paying for this any way that I'd want to use my own roofing company. Why would they invoke right to repair when I'm the one paying for it. They aren't paying a thing.

What should be my next step in making sure I get a more "real estimate" with the insurance approving it? Independent adjuster here, and I appreciate what you have to say ;) During my process, I've learned a lot about public adjusters, and let’s just say I'm not too fond of them. They often come across as sketchy and aren’t always focused on doing right by the insured. I hate not being able to fully help someone, but I love that I can do my best for them within my role. I stay within the legal lines, striving to do right by both the insured and the insurance company-it makes my job a lot easier. It’s reassuring to know there are still people out there with genuine heart.

By the time I got home the water was gone but the water bill was wiring for me which was $3000 which means approximately 30,000 gallons of water filled my house. Like kind and quality is standard language and does not mean "lower quality." If you have solid wood, you won't get vinyl or veneer. Maybe there's a few companies but as an adjuster, everytime I've worked with a PA they try to push for stuff that A. Wasn't present B. The homeowner won't do and C. Increases their own payout. A person taking 10% of you loss isn't helping you if you have an honest adjuster. I wonder if the option to repair has anything to do with contractors simulating wind damage and filing bogus supplements. I've seen "contractors" put up fanfold and snap a photo to claim it was present.

@@dominosrcool4120 ok mr insurance adjuster then why do we always have to sue insurance companies for breach of contract for substituting inferior materials not like kind or quality, poor workmanship, and failure to repair damaged areas. If insurance companies are going to try to get into the contractor business this is great for us. It makes it easier for us to file the lawsuit and we have additional counts of how they screwed up for the lawsuit. Of course, you wouldn't know about this because you're too busy screwing people and protecting insurance companies.

@@theclaimsquadpublicadjusters oh so you're not profiteering on people?? I'm independent and I don't get paid if I underestimate or low-ball an estimate. It's in my interest to ensure the insured is getting as much as they are entitled to. Your only incentive is maximizing your own payout and to do so you need to vilify adjusters and insurance companies. Are there bad companies? Yeah a lot of them. I choose to work for the ones that aren't, so don't tell me I'm screwing over someone. The idea that it's best to have a PA from the start only makes sense for a PA. If the claim goes smoothly then they would have never needed you, but you still get an absurd payout that screws over the insured.

I have two discrepancies happening simultaneously with my roofing claim. First one is, what is my recourse if the claims adjuster mixed pictures of another house into the pictures he took of my house? The pictures that were not of my house, made it look as if I was a hoarder. During the deposition, my attorney claims he asked the claims adjuster while under oath, if all of the pictures he presented under my claim were of my home and he said yes. He said he asked him was he sure? The claims adjuster said, yes. Second discrepancy is, I signed an AOB with the roofing company. I requested to see a copy of the photos the representative took the day he knocked on my door when the lawyer the roofing company set me up with, ( I was not given a choice to hire my own attorney) told us the claims adjuster said he did not see any damages on the roof. The pictures the roofing company submitted to the lawyer and the insurance company, was not the damages shown to me when they initially knocked on my door. I was shown actual damages which promoted me to file a claim. I believe there is some fraud taking place with both the roofing company and the insurance company, so I requested the lawyer get time stamps on the photos submitted by the roofing rep. It's been almost two weeks and the lawyer has yet to send photos showing the time stamps of the photos. I'm in Florida, by the way.
