Being Catholic, I learned Latin at a young age. No way is it like English: some Latin speakers describe English as a Latinized German. She is weak in French although she spoke it to Wouter. She claims not to be great at Tagalog 🇵🇭. But, it permits code switching. 😊 Disappointed 😞 . Illa no parla Italiano. 🇮🇹

Great review. But dude. The volume on the audio is ALL over the place. Listening in headphones was PAINFUL several times. A solution to this might be listening through your whole video on stock Apple headphones (the headphones that the plurality of people will be listening on) all the way through and checking for big volume changes. All in all nice video though. The content is great!

Thank you for “lærum Íslensku” and sharing a basics lesson with the native male accent. We have studied nearly three years of grammar, but he did a great audio example of that double “l” as you find in words like “jókull”. Looking now to see if there is a part “tweir”. Bless bless.

WOW!!!! Cameron is AMAZING It’s so unbelievable that she can speak SOOO MUCH languages. It’s insanely incredible. I can speak Polish but, it’s a very hard language as well to learn. I always had a problem speaking it but, I’ve been practicing and practicing a lot with that language. I know already that Cameron can speak so many languages already but, I think that if she would want to try learning another language I think she should learn polish because I know that she can do it and she is already amazing with other languages.

Latin is not as similar to English as this sounds. There are many related words, but the grammar, the inner structure of the language, is so much of a new concept. And what is more interesting - rote learning vocabulary or broadening your horizon by gaining new thinking patterns, new ways to perceive the world, including yourself? Of course, Japanese is even more remote, but Latin’s grammar is definitely not A LOT like English. Just wanted to make that clear, but otherwise I think what she’s doing is great.

You do know that you're not supposed to learn the example words in the trainer right? They're just there for you to learn how to hear the sounds. After you've completed that section it starts actually teaching you words. And it starts with nouns like star, sky, river etc. And verbs like run, and swim

No worries. What's most important is that we learn from our mistakes. I'm learning Norwegian right now and am in my third month, and I'm sorta A2 right now. Keep at it! :)

Thank you for the review! The biggest pro in my book vs. Rosetta stone is I can have Duo running in the background while using this new audio feature. Nowadays, I don't advise task switching (Multitasking doesn't exist) when learning a new language. Giving language learning your full attention for 10 or 20mins is likely best. However, this feature is pure gold for continuing to practice my French while going on a walk or some other secondary task. 10/10 recommend. Good luck with your channel! Seems like you are doing a great job!

Yes but it was not accurate to the original one. These types of slight differences didn't matter in this one but does in many other cases especially in languages with a completely different structure, vocabulary and grammar.
