Great video, my old 87 glasstream boat just did this, previous owner did put all new plywood on deck and just used lag bolts to hold down pedestal and the screws just kept being retightened down and I guess wore out, and well last week broke while setting and fishing, so this a great idea thanks for great video and explanation

They’re adjustable. You can program them to be as bright or as dim as you want. Mine come on at about 40% brightness when the motion sensor triggers.

Just leaving this here if you have a speed boat or need a more permanent fix use Starboard (it’s a fancy marine plastic) and some 3m Marine 5200 glue the floor will come up before the starboard does 😂 but you can also slap 4 screws in it because I love overkill

Were you able to get your light strips to play scenes like the indoor ones do? I have no problem doing it with any other lights. If yours do, I'd really like your input on what I may be doing wrong

I didn’t have any issue making them do anything that any other Hue light will do. The Hue system is still kind of limited in that aspect though.

This happens when the firmware is not the latest and Hue has to run an update. It is very slow updating via Zigbee. I have recently installed 7 new Hue lights and all but one came with obsolete firmware and did not react to “scenes” before completing the update.

I would bet they just want it up off of the ground a to keep it from sitting in water. Maybe put it on top of a brick or something like that?

I’ve had to do a similar fix on every boat I’ve ever owned. Currently driving a ‘92 Crownline. This time I used a jigsaw and removed the rotted circle from under the seat pedestal and opened up a big square. Then I replaced that square piece of plywood with a 16’’x16” resin coated box that’s 2” deep and mounted the pedestal on to that box. That spreads the stress of the rider’s weight out over a much bigger area. Never had to work on it again. Totally solid even with my big ass in it !! Great idea you showed here, though !!

@heesa noice I was thinking about doing something similar in my boat. Taking something like a 16"x16" piece of plywood and fiberglassing it to the floor but maybe your approach would be better. Have any pictures?
@heesanoice7637
@heesanoice7637 2 жыл бұрын
@@codemonkey777 After I replaced the floors I went a different route. I built 16x16x2 platforms and coated them with a water barrier paint then screwed then in to the floor with 2 1/2 inch decking screws and sealed all the screw holes. Then I mounted the seat bases on to the platforms. That way there’s no stress on the decking. So far it has held up well even in rough water. Not even the slightest sign of wear after about 10 hours on the water. If the platforms ever give out , I can just build new ones without having to repair the flooring.

What size lag bolts did you use for the underside board and did you go any longer for the screws going into the board so they would go into the boat floor or did you just go long enough to stay in the installed bottom board? Was a great idea. I was thinking of doing this but wasn’t sure how it would hold up, but you have given me confidence this will be a great fix. Thank you for posting this. Great work.

hi, could you see if those lights work with the sync app with video function? you can do it from a pc by downloading the application. I want to buy one for the tv. I found a 6.6 feet perfect size for my tv. but I don't know if it has that function with the hue sync app from the pc (you must create an entertainment area from the phone). there is no video. no information about that on the internet. could you help me trying? I know there are some strips of this type for tv, but they are very expensive and are sold out everywhere. there are only resellers

sent you a thumbs up and sub bro...nice work...if I have one pointer (I'm a no no-name documentary filmmaker) I would just tell you to not change a thing about how you're shooting this. You have a nice grasp of the need to spice it up by your use of different angles to capture the content, and you're obviously magic on-screen. But Bro-cephus....LOOK AT THE HOLE. That's what I tell everyone I put on screen. It's really no matter what camera, be that if you're shooting youtube episodes in selfie mode on an iPhone 11 or have a flip-around-screen on a Canon mirrorless SLR or the crew of the documentary you're interviewing on camera for has a fat 60-inch confidence monitor linked to a $50,000 dollar RED cinema camera....ALWAYS look at the lens... not YOU. You can see it in a minute. Look at us. Just a friendly pointer my man, really who am I to say. Super Good job otherwise and great content for average joes like me. Enjoyed.

Thanks for posting this video! I've been looking for a way to secure my pedestal boat seats without underside access!! I noticed you just screwed in the bolts... no nut... Id like to know if you've given it a good test yet?? Wouldn't the plate (and or pedestal) that you've installed just pull out when things get choppy?
@Another_Project
@Another_Project 4 жыл бұрын
That’s why I made the larger base plate out of wood and used the lag bolts. The idea was to spread out the load. I’m a big guy and I’ve used it a ton since making this and they’re still holding strong. The seat doesn’t move even a tiny bit. Hope this helps.
