This is a great platform to share feelings and to bring confidence to those still unsure of who they are and how to broach the subject. I'm 65 now and at age 17 I told my parents and sister and I got kicked out of the house. I did go back about 6 months later to chat and nothing changed. That was the last I saw of my family. During a lengthy career I met my now husband on February 24 in 1994, we married on Feb 24 when it was legalised in 2006 (Civil Partnered back then)...then full marriage 9 years later (on Feb 24) when even that was legalised. So yeah...31 years together, 19 years married. Both successful careers and my family missed it all. I'm grateful it has become more tolerant today, but never let your guard down....there are STILL bigots and violent homophobes everywhere....and in many countries the death penalty still applies for merely existing. We've always been here. Just be wise ;-)

I'm 63 and did not really need to come out to my parents and family. At 16 I just bought my first boyfriend home and that was it. I feel we are going backwards if young people make race and sexuality an issue. We had decided not to see a difference now you need to identify to be of a specific group. You think that's woke, I think it's a big mistake.

Im so sick of people saying coming out. Whats the big deal does it make you feel special. Its like taking off at a airport when gays say coming out.

Good guy, religion especially about being gay is complete nonsense, there are so many story's on the news here in England about Catholic preists and leaders of the church molesting young boys the church is full of crap if they say being gay is wrong, there are millions of gay guys and girls in every country around the world I've never heard anything in the bible that says gay people are bad only people who rape, what I believe in the bible is when it says God created man in the image of himself so God made gay people and come on people who knows what was supposed to be written in the bible thousands of years ago, there is no proof what so ever especially in these days that God said to a person I'd like you to write in the bible I don't like gay people I think that's absolute rubbish, you are born gay and there's nothing you can do about it and gay people are usually really successful and very good looking,, I really believe this bible crap about gay people is just something a normal man idiot put in there was no real education 2000 years ago what the hell do those cave men understand be who you are, it's all a ridiculous joke I'm a guy and I've had married men say to me I'm straight but do you want sex, there all hypocrits and sleep with anything they don't care , really good story Nathan I loved it all you people be who you feel you need to be wouldn't surprise me at all if given the chance anyone would be gay there are millions and millions all around the world

Awesome authentic Gay coming out story with important actions and reactions. You are very well spoken and every single topic you touch on matters. As an older Gay married man I appreciate and think you have made a difference for the good in our community. My coming out was similar in a few ways. I hope you keep speaking up and repent our younger generation, you are so unique and cool.

Nate. You have a natural and warm approach to your story, and show a wonderful understanding of human nature-parents and friends included. I wish you the best in the future, and please dont forget how being your true self has influenced so many peiple. Your ability to be yourself, to be yourself naturally, might be perhaps one of your greatest attributes.

How Cool Is It for You Guys To Live in A Modern Country! Where Do You Understand Me in Uzbekistan, They Just Don't Consider Me A Person, They Humiliate Me, and Verbally Abuse Me, If You Knew How Hard It Is For Me To Live In A Small Town Where Everyone Knows Me, I Used To Dream That The Whole City Would Know About My Sexual Orientation, But I Dreamed About It Twenty Years Ago When Russians Lived In My City The Guys Later Moved To Different Countries., Now The Population In Uzbekistan Has Increased and People Have Come from Different Remote Towns and Villages, and Unfortunately My Dream Has Come True, But Not When I Wanted It, Now I Walk On The Street Every Day and Hear Words From These People Like They Hate Me and Call Me Bad Names. Unfortunately, My Country Has Returned to The Middle Ages! Our Deputies in Tashkent, The Capital Of Uzbekistan, Have Already Passed A New Law That Says That People Like Me And This Handsome Boy In The Video Should Be Stripped Of Our Citizenship And Sent To Other Countries. By The Way, There Is An Article In Our Country Prohibiting Same-Sex Relationships

your feelings are completely natural, and described by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato ...and the "really not wanting to have them" is because of the "stigma" also described by Plato who helped promote it to encourage the husbandry a state needs to father the next generation of citizens (just so you know what's happening and what's going on, and why. This isn't something newly discovered by scientists, it's literally ancient knowledge. just sharing a little elder wisdom with you

Nathan, I don’t know you but I’m pretty sure we could be friends and I’m 65 yo… I say this because you evidence a level of maturity and sophistication that is not generally seen in your age peers… I’m glad this was a positive experience for you and I hope the road ahead is inhabited by as few bumps as possible… you have a long runway ahead of you and I know one thing for sure, you will never know love in someone’s body… only in who they are and what they make available to you through their actions and the words that comport with their actions… be well and live as fully as possible. Mike
