When I think of Bemis & Call I think of the S wrenches, I think it was a good call not trying to get the pin out. No need to risk the damage on it. Love the finish!!! I'll catch up with ya soon Mr. John.
@TheKidFromYTownКүн бұрын
You still got it looking really nice even without getting that pin out. I think that would have driven me crazy because I would have had to keep going until I got it out. It amazes me to think about how long some of these tools have been around.

Hi John. I just picked on up from a market. I think the sliding hammer is to drive down then you lever it to pull the nail out. The more you would lever, the tighter the jaws would go. I’ll be restoring mine too. Thanks

Very cool restoration of the fencing pliers. I just bought my first pair from Channellock. I don’t think they’re as well built as those Crescent fencing pliers, but they’re the only made-in-America ones I could find. 👍🏻

Interesting Video. I have a friend that has a box of similar Red Head anchors and plugs but they have an additional tapered top part. Do you know if these will drill with a modern 1/2" hammer drill? We can't figure out what the tapered top part is for exce[t maybe a special drilling tool. We have no special setting tools just the drill part and the plugs.
@johnfix112 күн бұрын
@@aed1948 there were adapters made for straight percussion hammers, for a taper hammers, for hex shank hammers, and spine Shank hammers. I'm sure this is probably an adapter. If you could send me a picture of the item I could explain it to you. There is there was no adapter made for modern SDS type hammers or for a hammer drill with a chuck
@johnfix112 күн бұрын
Okay I had a second thought on this. The lighter anchors produced had a tapered head on them. The tapered top of the anchor fit into a truck that was a female taper. The truck then fit on an adapter that went into the rotary hammer. There were different Chuck heads that fit the adapter and each Chuck head was size to fit the specific anchor
@johnfix112 күн бұрын
That should have said tapered anchors instead of lighter anchors
@johnfix112 күн бұрын
I wish this thing with quick correcting my talking. Everywhere I said truck it should be Chuck

They were in Volvo car tool kits in the 60s, mainly the Amazon. Many people mis describe the pry end as a tire lever. In the Volve application it was intended to pry off the chrome center cap on steel wheel rims, not lever car tyres. The unmarked Bahco's of this pry end wrench were intended for bicycle use, with the pry actually intended for and capable of being used as a tire lever on bicycles.

Excellent job John- I have a couple Bahco wrenches but unfortunately can’t use them because they adjust opposite of all my other wrenches! That little detail drives me crazy and made them unusable to me. Thus we call them the “Left handed wrench” 🫣😂👍
