Unreal uses tracker music. Specifically, ScreamTracker 3 and ImpulseTracker. If your game's playback engine supports selectively muting channels, then you could use this for dynamic music which gets more complex with additional layers.

It's a promotional trailer for a community game modification (fan-made content) that I made, which adds a whole new terrain (map) to the game among some other things, the game it was made for is Arma 3. The trailer attempts to follow and take from some of the ideas present in the lore of the game, and it was made just for fun, for the sake of it - it's not official by any means. And thank you!
