I got it on Xbox and absolutely love it! I highly recommend against getting it for switch. There are parts in the story that drag on and some parts that are busywork; however, what helped me was to take breaks and not binge this game.

Sandrock is 1000% better on PC. Both My Time At games are notorious for having problems with the Switch version.

The only thing that I agree with you is the lack of club tortimer, I forgot how fun that survival island minigame was and how many hours I spent . The moment I discovered that was almost all I was playing nonstop , and see people in the backyard island , but the main thing for me was the survival island minigame of club tortimer. They need either a new AC game or an update 3.0 ACNH. POST-EDIT: nvm I just heard you ssay in the end "thank you for watching and comment below" <-- this is code for I am not going to read anything and I only feign interest so people comment on my video and gather algorithm attention. thank you for your video! i ended up trying this game out and frankly I cant get past some things. The art direction and creative quality is just --- bad? off putting? low-qual? old school without the asetheic nostalgic good feeling? graphics in this game just look like trash even on PC.

I'm so glad you included those nostalgic commercials for Animal Crossing in this retrospective. I watched those so much on a demo disk that I got. I love Animal Crossing, especially the first game which helped me through a rough depressive episode as a kid. I owe this series a LOT!

Prospective player here… I’ve pretty much decided to buy it.. just deciding if the gold pack or whatever it’s called is worth $70….

As a PC and console player, I don't have the same glitches or issues as you, but its good to see why not to get a swtich. A lot of the games I like are available on switch, and I would like to get a handheld system. More and more games on switch seem to be bad. I wanted to get a switch cause I wanted to try out animal crossing. I love dinkum, coral island, Sandrock and Palia but in all of those games, the switch version seems to be a problem. I think I would prefer a steam deck or something else instead of switch. TY for this review

I couldn't care less about so-called "diversity" and "inclusion", but this does look like a great game!

I am still not entirely bought on the idea of adding the villains as just your neighbours or neighbours of the protagonists. Mother Gothel kidnapped and manipulated Rapunzel, Scar killed Simba's father, etc etc. It's hard for me sometimes to accept me being all friendly with them and giving them gifts and spending time with them. It's not like they will change that, but I much would have preferred them staying villains and not moving into my valley. As I am a returning player and did not play through previous passes I do not have many cool stuff and I hope they will give us some kind of way to play for them again, craft them or buy them for gold even if a lot of gold. I do not think a new player or somebody who took a break should be denied any content considering that game is full priced and I believe that full priced games should provide their player base access to all content with more or less effort.

You know what's crazy? 4 years after New Leaf came out, I was still playing it and the Welcome Amiibo update hadn't even come out yet to give us more content, nor did we know it was coming. I haven't seriously picked up New Horizons in 2 years. It's dead. Horizons was such a let down.

Loved the video. I subscribe what you said about the DLCs, I would also buy it if they decide to drop the next game with a lot of *actually useful* DLCs if that's what motivates them to create new content - as we keep seeing with Pocket Camp. People often talk about how much the game industry changed, that we used to buy just the game for half of the new price, but times change and so people's financial decisions do. You can see that with Elden Ring, their DLC and figurines aired even before we could bond with the actual NPC lol. Now adults who like video games buy collector editions because they simply love the game, no matter the price because they spend the money on things they love. I love AC. I've been a fan since 2008 and it has evocked so many memories and experiences that I will treasure forever. I hope to do the same in the future, no matter how the next game looks like, it will always be MY saga. People need to understand that the majority of AC fans are already in their 20s, 30s and work and can pay for DLCs and merch of their favourite series. We can also think that making Tortimer's island a paid DLC can affect on the amount of players (not enough people to form teams and the result of them getting paired with CPUs), but I think that if they add it to the Nintendo Switch Online as they did it with this last one, it works because people who want to go to other people's islands or visit dreams inevitably need the Online service.

Something I just discovered the other day that I haven't seen anyone mention- while on day one (during the tutorial day) you can actually get into the blizzard mountains early on and won't freeze since it's the tutorial (you can even talk to Grell- but he doesn't say much). Just explore/hop around the mountain side- it's pretty easy to get pass the three vortex blocking that one path!!!

I can't lie, I'm a bit "meh" about these items. The only one I can maybe see myself getting is Al's Toy Barn. I'm sure tons of players will be hyped for them though.

Still really annoyed that they added skins got premium. It is so stupid. Devs said all premium options would only be cosmetic, and not give players any kind of advantage. Changing the layout of the plot is not nearly the same as having an outfit on your character, or a pet running with you. With this new landscape skins incorporation, you get the default skin, the shipwreck isles, and the wooded forest, all of which have 3 different bodies of water to fish from. Some ppl might not see this as a "player advantage", but it is, and chances are, it will only get worse. You don't even have to leave your plot to farm for different fish. It's a slippery slope, and as much as I love Palia, and as much as I like supporting this game, I think they could have gone a different route to increase sales without dividing ftp.

I've been playing this game and it was a bit confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, it's so fun! I think it's adorable and alluring, not to mention unique. I do dislike the fact you can't enter your house though.

Thanks for doing a tour of the plot skin, I was super curious what that would look like. Our houses actually look kind of similar, even down to the new two story room that we didn't know how to finish yet! 😂
