I just saw the same thing while standing on my front porch in Maine! It was a very bright flash of light kinda like a camera flash viewed from super far away. I kept watching the sky afterward and a minute or two later saw the same thing only at a different point in the sky. Whatever it was had traveled a pretty good distance. I don't think it was a satellite as I see them pretty often including a couple tonight and they always travel in pretty much the same direction. Whatever this was traveled in a completely different direction than the satelites I saw tonight. It was pretty cool to see.
