I have always loved Planet of the Apes! My sister and I have such fond memories of watching the films, on our local channel, decades ago. They had ‘Planet of the Apes Week’’ and we couldn’t wait until 11:00 every night. We ate snacks in the dark and had the best time. My sister, Lydia, had the full sized action figures. The latest movie was the last time I went to the theater. I’m 62 now and still love them. 😆

Could you have a Lego building party? family members come round and chat, have nibbles and build Lego together, best Lego builder gets a little gift ( maybe even a chance to gift something you want to declutter) or could the girl guides do the same, have a Lego building evening. I typed in German floor lamp out of curiosity on Ebay and there's some really beautiful ones, I nearly started bidding on one of them but I have nowhere to put one all our electric sockets are in use and I'm not sure it would survive long in our house, there's one almost the same as yours too Emma, it may even be an exact match.

Hi Emma! I don't think you're alone in not wanting to see what you've decided to get rid of in case it will make you want to keep it. Many of us do get attached to things and it's not easy to get rid of them. Items hold memories and meaning for us. I've started my new year declutter very slowly. Today I'm donating 7 bags of clothes and 5 boxes of books, games, decor etc. The main space I'm avoiding is the basement as there are so many sentimental things from my kids childhoods that I need to go through. I want to get to that soon though because I know I will feel better once I sort it out, declutter and organize it. Have a wonderful weekend! 😊❤

A strategy for a clutter-free home without stressful decluttering decisions. 🗑 Declutter the items you can effortlessly let go of. 📦 Put uncertain items in boxes using a digital inventory with images. 🏡 Enjoy a clutter-free home and a clear view of stored items. 🏷 Tag items in the inventory for sale, donation or review. ⏳ Let time declutter for you-what remains boxed is likely clutter, making decisions easier.

Some people just want a formal diagnosis of ADHD if they have thought they have had it for a long time. The symptoms can be quite different in women and girls than the traditional criteria. Like you mentioned with your learner, it is beneficial to have a diagnosis if it will help with accommodations in school or in the workplace.

My husband was thrilled when you congratulated him for his new habits of making the bed & putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher.❣️ I had to chuckle when I saw you sorting all the Legos. I can’t tell you how many hours s of my life have been spent sorting Legos. First for my children and then for my grandchildren. I kept them for a while but then in 2023 I gave them away to my great nieces & nephews. I asked their parents never to get rid of them. Keep them in the family. The boxed sets are so expensive now.

Hi Emma, it's Mary from Manchester. Would it work for you to sort the washing into 3 piles straight from the airer or radiators and then take a pile with you each time you go upstairs and put it in the room it belongs. You will then only have to sort it once and use the don't go upstairs empty handed concept to get it all put away. If you put each load away as soon as it is dry you won't have the dread of dealing with piles of washing!

I am older but way back when like the early 80’s my son was in 1st grade and the school said he had ADHD and needed medication. Back then it was new and and had no history so I said no you will not use my son as a Guinea Pig. They were beside themselves and said “we can force you to give it to him” and I said. It will be a cold day in hell and I never gave it to him and he is now grown with a family and doing great. He will not give it to his children either

I'm a little surprised that I didn't comment on this video as I like the wall hanging that you put up with the pinecones and leaves etc. attached to it. I don't know if it's because of my dad being such an outdoor person or because he was a teacher and would do things with his students and then sometimes bring them home, but much of what they would create or collect were things from nature and I still like to decorate my home with things that God has given us. I have many stones, as you know, but I also like to cut a few sprigs from our yew hedge and colorful maple leaves and pinecones, to bring inside. I never thought about making them into a piece of art/decor, by hanging them. (There is a slight concern that the cats may think the string is for them.) 😅

I know this may seem a bit odd, but I have been watching a lot of your videos over the past few days and instead of always listening or using closed captions, I've just been watching your progress, and it really is impressive, and I think you should stop and think about how much you've accomplished over the last several months. You are doing great, Emma, even when it feels like you are going backwards, because you are finding it easier to get caught up with the tidying up.

Funny, you said you and your hubby had a conversation of what would you take in a Emergency, my Best Friend Jennifer and I at church were having the same conversation on Sunday. She asked me, what would I do and grab... I told her, I already have a to-go bag bc every Summer, we have a fire scare bc we are right at the foothills of the mountains. I said I would grab all our important paper, my Dad's Teddy Bear when he was a child, a change of clothes, our 2 doggies and medicine and a hygiene bag. That's it... thankfully my Hubby had all our pictures on Digital in the Cloud?! Tech tuff goes past my brain..ah ha haa... I have tried to get the kids to have their bags ready too. They do it every Summer and then unpack it...😮😂

Hello Emma, Greetings from Austria 😊 I was thinking....as your daughter isn't really playing anymore in the playroom and her bedroom gains more space....would it be an option to turn the playroom into a " Utility room", wgere you can dry, store and fold your laundry ( it has to go upstairs anyhow). So the " laundry clutter " is out of the groundfloor. If someone visits just shut that door😅. You can Park then all sorts of things there. But make it habit to tidy and clean that room, let's say, every second suturday of the month or whatever, you know what I mean. But then, you have contained a lot of stuff but gained a lot of space downstairs. But I don't suggest to take anything away from your daughter she still wants. You are making marvellous progress and keep up maintaing👍.

Watching your video and hearing all of the comments, I'm itching to get out into our ad on to sort through all of my books. It's not heated beyond 50 degrees, so it gets quite cold to spend much time out there, along with all of the accumulation of things that belong to my husband that need to go out to the garage or the shed. However, I do want to get going on the books, so as soon as it warms up a bit (March? April? Who knows.) 😅 I do need to contact our local library and see if they are accepting books. I know it stopped during the Covid pandemic disaster, and I don't know if they've reinstated donations or not. The Epilepsy Foundation will only accept 1 box of books, and I have the potential of having several boxes if I am feeling as determined as I feel at the moment. I do think our thrift store accepts books, but not sure if they have a limit. I do have too many and need to make some tough decisions. I am so excited that you were able to reduce your number of books. 73 is substantial. Good on you. You are really doing so well with your decluttering and still maintaining the downstairs. It is great that your husband and daughter are lending a hand a bit more. You really don't have to do it all by yourself.

I am so glad you had a talk with your husband and daughter about your wishes for keeping things tidy and that they seem to be getting on board. 🎉 I sent you a video on IG of a woman who redid her fireplace herself. 😂 When Mrs. Kojak said that she was from West Virginia, did you start singing that song? 😲 I can do assessments to determine ADHD diagnosis. I have it as well. Listening to you talk about doctors prescribing medication and then more medication to treat a problem that occurred because of the medication definitely is a terrible problem in our healthcare system now. Doctors are not treated to look for the problem, just to throw medication at it. Sorry, this is the soap blocks issue for me.
