Wow, I really only thought of the shashka as more of a cavalry saber used mostly for slashing but it's a potent thruster as well! Never seen someone halfsword with one either, very cool techniques.

These forest roads can be very deceiving. The back country roads in area they are paved are really nice and green too. There is no off road towing service if you get stuck, we carry chains and work with heavy equipment operators if we must get pulled out.

Спасибо за добрые слова. Это был долгий путь. Я занимаюсь обучением шашек-сабли, перевожу старые русские руководства, делаю учебные пособия и снимаю видео, чтобы вывести шашку-сабу на Запад. Постепенно все больше людей стали интересоваться саблей Шашка.

The shashka doesn't have a guard, any stabbing done with it will draw your hand on the blade. The way to use a long curved blade like that in extreme close quarters is by means of pull cuts close to the body. You have a long edge, use it. Of course being an agile dancer would help you with that.

Tulvar is actually supposed to be thrown with your body weight like a hook, tulvar goes from behind you body to target. If you throw this way you will feel and know it is exactly supposed to be thrown like that, also that's why it's curve.

​@@CaliforniaCossackyou use the disk pommel on the bottom as a guide to cut, if the edge touches your wrist that means the technique is wrong. Use more of your shoulders and hips to cut also.

I purchase Shashka sabers used from private parties, I have them made in Turkey and in Pakistan, I have even tried the Kult of Athena blades
