This scene is a great example of what fucking karma is if you ever read the book or watch the movie or know the book or know the movie like really well

The whole point of the movie is that Alex was a piece of shit but surrounded by even bigger pieces of shits. You could hardly find a decent person in this film besides the priest and his parents were full on idiots. Hell basically.

I think that these scene could been seen as a "blasphemou" baptism/rebirth of the new Alex in his new twisted world

Karma the Movie... Literally its a clock. You commit heinous acts... The clock will go back just to spite you in return for punishment.. there were alot of other messages as well making you question the use of brutality to reduce crime and if it suits the criminal. In Alex's case it is. Is the Government overreaching, yes. Could it eventually be used towards non criminals when a new leader takes the reigns or the current wants to become a dictator? Yes to that too... The man was all on board to use Alex as a scapegoat but then he just let the rabid dog face atonement in his docile state.

I feel Alex's mind would simply condition himself to feel nothing from any violent act, making him a truly heinous super villain, his criminal mind finally being unleashed and thus doing some weird crusade of what he deems justice against those who have wronged him. Confronted perhaps he would "act" as if in normal repulsion to cover his crimes and no one would be the wiser. This man in my head canon, becomes an even more terrifying super villain of Joker proportions created by the state. Short of chemical or physical lobotomy, he's a time bomb waiting to pop.

What I really don't understand is why weren't his buddies suffering the same way Alex did. I love that no matter what Alex is saying to excuse himself they just laugh that menacing laughter.

The fact that they knew where they were taking him. Gives the impression that this isn't the first time they drowned and beaten a random person.

Another cool hidden aspect is that , as seen shortly after this scene in the movie, the old man in wheelchair says something about this rumor,that the government is hiring ex criminals in police department. By doing so the government is taking advantage of the violent tendencies of these criminals , and thats also explains why Dim and George did not look like it was the first time they were drowning someone in that bath .
