Is this engine the same GM Chevrolet in line six cilynder?
@DSGNflorian4 күн бұрын
No, it's unique to Opel. It was launched in 1937 in the Opel "Super 6" with a displacement of 2.5 L and 55 bhp (!) In 1939, it became the standard (and only) engine choice for the Opel Kapitän. It looks similar to most GM inline 6's of the era because it utilizes the same basic design approach. This one is the last iteration of the engine with 2.6L displacement and 100 bhp. Typical GM pre-war short stroke OHV, quite modern for its time, but obsolete by the mid-1960s. It didn't make much peak power, yet abundant low and mid-range torque gave it great drivability. It was whisper-quiet at idle and very, very smooth. It also had decent fuel economy if you didn't drive it too aggressively, and thanks to the plentiful torque there was rarely a need for that. I owned a 1964 Opel Admiral with this engine some decades ago and I remember it as a truly pleasant and reliable car. Wish I still owned it today.

My sister Joanna loves cats 🐈😻🐈⬛😺😸😹😼😽 and so does my special needs son, the Siamese cat is one of his favorites, he first heard about them in a animated television 📺 show called Sagwa The Chinese Siamese Cat and has been fond of them ever since he also likes tabby cats, black cats, white cats, oriental shorthairs, and tuxedo cats.
