Damn I have only 1 ASA/USA bat and it’s a M2 Monsta Torch Woodgrain in 25oz stiff handle. We only have USSSA leagues and Tournaments down here but I want to get another ASA bat for BP and because they hit 52’s like 🔥 I hear Anarchy is pretty good too, but I kinda want to try a blacksheep or whatever the new version Sinister is called… the 1-piece. Any recommendations? I normally swing 26oz 1/2 endload, 27oz balanced, or 25oz 1.0+ endload. LS, Worth, Miken, Easton, Pure, Proton, etc.

My league let's me use usssa bats or ASA. The balls we use are 52 cores. Would this bat be hotter then the M5 asa monsta bats?

Back In late 2000s the red extended and blue syn asa models were going for huge money like 450+ .. paired with the old balls and 2k swings they were fire.

That would be a blast to play in! I'm just under 2 hours from the Dells over north of LaCrosse, WI. Love the extra challenges of being 1 pitch and playing off the dome walls. Like mentioned, being able to play in the winter is a huge added bonus for us, haha!

Were you using .44/375 balls? Did you put 2000 swings on that SCX14? You’re talking about bats that were out before the .52/300 was created.

This is banned in current 2024 USA/ASA, so we used the 52/300’s used in the league currently. How is this bat still banned when it’s a dud with the current balls used? That’s what we were testing to see and clearly it doesn’t come close.

@@wolfpacbatreviewsthey aren’t going to un-ban a bat that doesn’t perform well with LC balls when there are still leagues out there using harder balls. That’s like taking your Monsta and hit stadium balls for a review. It would perform badly because it’s not designed to hit those.

That is true, but the Bat companies in the leagues get together and they won’t let you use all Bats ….I have been a Bat collector for 25 years and nowadays they only go like five years maybe a few more and then they change standards so the Bat companies are making money all the time I’ve been playing ball since 1980 and I still play Senior Softball ….. just remember, the balls are made for the bats for nowadays and the old days you have to use the correct ball for the year the bat and it does take 1000 swings for the Easton Bats Break in … I am from Minnesota, where Miken Change the world of Softball from aluminum to composite….

You picked absolutely the worst Easton bat from that time, the Flex, Blue the Extended, red and the plus, green were the best bats ever made, those bats you are using are 52/300 very light and soft. the balls that were made for that bat are the ones still used at a Big league dreams and other parks, 44/375 hard and little heavier. The Monsta bats are great but in 2000's nothing was better then there Eastons I mentioned and the OG Miken Freak.

It’s got over 1000 easily, a small seam was starting to form at the bottom of the barrel, it’s seen its days. Didn’t perform with 52/300’s, not sure why it’s still on the banned bat list!

Wow. Just wow. E level swings if I’ve ever seen one. These guys are not credible, should not be doing bat reviews. Secondly, they don’t even know what good bats are banned. This one was awful ! How are you going to pick that synergy over the og extended ! Grey and red, black outlines, for those of you noobs. Just an awful video. Will be my first and last. When the original grey ultra came out nobody knew composite bats kept getting hotter. All of a sudden everyone was dropping bombs. That got banned pretty quick

Again glad to see Wolfpac back. The extended was ban when Asa was using 44 core 375 compression softballs. In 2012 Asa/Usa switched to 52 core 300 comp. I will agree with you guys this bat was not even that great with the 44 core balls. Fun video to watch.

That version isn't the "hot" Easton. You need the SCX3. There is also the SCN3 and SCN9 that were very good. The SCX14 was known for being a bit of a dud. The bats from this era are designed for 44/375's which ASA used to use. They also took over a thousand hits to break in using those balls. A more interesting comparison would be with a bat mentioned above with lots of wear and tear. That being said, I still think the modern tech will beat an old ASA bat that is fully broken in and it is a little silly that they are still banned. A lot of those bats back then got really crazy good when they developed small cracks. That would be more of a fair comparison performance wise...😄

@@wolfpacbatreviews yeah, the SCX14 is a bit of a turd. These bats mainly got banned because they just wouldn't break, and they would start to exceed the performance limits. Back in the day a NIW SCN3 or SCX3 would go for a $1000 or more.

Thanks for the review! I was eyeballing that one. I just got an m2 black ghost torch and then won the ice m5 torch with alloy handle. They feel super similar, the alloy handle maybe gives you a little more feedback through the hands but the m2 and m5 felt similar. I had an MX torch reserved until they told me they have no eta so i cancelled it. I got an anarchy demon xcore instead. Something i can swing all year since i have an outdoor batting cage.

Cody I’m going to give you a tip here my name is John Williams when hitting in slow pitch softball I think of it more like a pitcher in baseball where you want to have you body and momentum going forward you’re swinging from your back side and letting the ball get to you vs you getting to the ball just something to work on a little for your swing

@ you can swing through the ball but not have all your body working through it though my dude momentum forward is everything then comes pitch recognition meaning is this pitch flat fast high and slow in or out or a combination of any of these if you’re not picking that up quick enough like out the pitchers hand mos of the time you won’t be able to get going forward we have to create our own power speed of pitch isn’t doing it swing whip is great point my dude

Awesome, was waiting for this video! Would love to see that comparison to m5 Torch, along with the alloy handle fire torch. I was on the same fence trying to decide if I wanted that blue fire alloy handle or the galaxy and went with the galaxy as well, similar situation though needing to wait until next season to hit it or drive to another town to use an indoor cage which will happen a couple times, but I have to drive about an hour to get to one so not as much as I would like over the off season. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses during your dome season with more hits!
