When you did your test drive after the installation, you had the window opened. I doubt that there would be much difference in sound quality. How did the car sound with the windows up (before and after) ???? Also, since your headliner looked to be ripped up, I would have considered removing the headliner and putting the sound deadener on the inside of the roof as well. Just my thoughts.
@buddyfirebird
@buddyfirebird Жыл бұрын
I do not have a video of the car with the windows up. I do have them up when driving now though because I've put in vintage AC (I think the padding helps that too). its quiet enough to talk to the passenger without the road noise or exhaust. I plan on doing the roof and the doors at some point but not until I need to pull the headliner down (it does have a tear currently). Right now that's on hold because I have a major transmission problem so that's pulled out and starting the process of having a better one built.

I have a few questions to ask you buddy. I'm gong to be setting a set on my 67 camaro. The dim wire, tach, and speed. I wonder if you can have a few minutes to explain a few things to me. I would really appreciated.
@buddyfirebird
@buddyfirebird Жыл бұрын
its been a little while but I can say the tach was one wire to the distributor and the speed can be calibrated. its actually a really cool set up. you can measure out a mile and drive it to calibrate or i used my phone with an app to watch my speed and when i hit the set set speed i put on Dakota digital I hit set and its accurate. i believe i used the dakota digital to dim but i dont remember for sure.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. Bundesabgasbespaßungsverbotsverordnung in German. :-(((/(/(/()/()/()/()/(

@@D1SxK1DxB3AST holiday time is the brand, (bought them at walmart at the end of year clearance) these ones have a teardrop cover. you cant see it well in the video but the lights are blue and white. each sting had 60 lights. they seem to last good, i have used those strings on other props in the past years. if you look at one of my videos from the years before, it is the sting of lights that make up large blue and white tree in the middle.

My Hughes converter says there should be 1/8 to 3/16 air gap between the torque converter and flex plate. If there is more you can use high quality washers. To achieve this spacing.

@buddyfirebird 3 жыл бұрын
that was a simple part. clips at 4:20 show 3 wires connecting. one for the right tail light one for the left, middle for the original car wire. repeat with other color if memory serves me right. (this was 5 years ago). if you get them and cant understand the directions, I can send you pictures of mine. some of mine is still using those clips, others are shrink tubed together. Don't let the wiring scare you it was not that hard. Dakota digital was an easy kite to install.

Got an update on this? I'm having the same issue with a TH400 to LS3. Purchased the Advace Adapters kit 7012500A4 and a stock spec Summit toque converter neither company had a solution for me. GM's spec is 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch gap between torque converter and flex plate. So I'm thinkimg of trying these 1/4" spacers www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D3YZ8M2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 How did the spacers work out for your transmission? I've heard with the TH400 you can flip the pump shaft around and it will space the torque converter forward but I don't know how much that would gain, I may go that route if this didn't hold up for you.

without it getting to complicated, the heaver the spring the faster you need to go get to you advanced timing. the heavy springs on your car will never get there, put on lighter ones. your advance should be around 36 or 37 degrees at highway rpm. if you are not getting there at about 2500 rpm you probably need less spring tension. at least that's my understanding.
@DingDangg
@DingDangg 8 жыл бұрын
How do you determine what springs to use? I just got a MSD and it's very confusing as I dont want to damage anything, it's a mostly stock 350 in a 69 el camino...
@johnmilner7603
@johnmilner7603 8 жыл бұрын
Get your timing light that can read total timing or get timing tape for your balancer and rev the car to 3000 rpm. A 350 likes 36* total advance. If you can't reach 36* by the time you get to 3000 rpm then you need lighter springs. You want your total to completely be in by 3000 rpm. If it comes in too early with 2 light springs then change it to 1 light and 1 medium. Play around with the springs until 36* total advance comes in at 3000 rpm. Remember to plug the vacuum tube at the vacuum advance can with a golf tee.

timothy oberg it came new with very heavy springs, they didn't allow it to run well . I haven't played with mine much but I have one blue and one silver in it now and it livened up. the bushing is the factory one I never tried to change that (yet). I wish I understood more about it but i'm going to have to try different combos and see how the car reacts.
