what is the watts, current for the DC?
@backmorning
@backmorning Жыл бұрын
It's 180w, 12v, the current is 15A
@BalanBro2

@@backmorning So the issue isn't AC vs DC. It's because you are running low voltage and high current DC. If you ran an equivalent 240V DC, the current would be the same as the AC.
@backmorning
@backmorning 4 ай бұрын
@@BalanBro2 You are right. I highlight DC with AC, because in the normal lighting industry, AC always use 110/220V, and DC always use 12/24 V, which is much lower
@BalanBro2

@backmorning Ah yes, understood. I used to work with automotive audio installations, and the low voltage and high current needed for amplifiers often required massive cables up to 0AWG. Those same amplifiers only needed 10AWG to the speakers since the output was much higher voltage.

Sorry, I don't understand you very well. The lighting sample in this testing is an outdoor light, it marks IP66. This testing instrument is used to simulate the different levels of rain and to test the outdoor lighting samples. Some indoor lights also require waterproof ability, such as high-bay lights, tri-proof lights, we also use this testing instrument to test it(according to IEC standard)

We focus on the B2B field, not B2C or online selling, so it's hard for me to tell you which type of light is ok in the market and you can buy. But I can share you: OSRAM and Thorn are good brands, and can be trusted.

Solved that many years ago, just wire up and add a cable tie 2mm before the inside of the cable gland, we've produced 10s of 1000s of fittings doing that...

That‘s wonderful of you to do that. Yes, it's not new, and actually simple. However, some manufacturers ignore this simple thing. If the factories keep working well on the simple things, not jumping the process, the quality of the products in the market will be more stable.

I bet they didn't expect anyone to put it through a test that was anywhere near this thorough. Most people would get it and see that it produces a lot of light and be happy thinking they got a huge bargain. I think most made in China products are to a degree deceptive on their advertising.

Many products just are sold to the market and mark any parameters they want. There are also a lot of high-quality and reliable lighting products made in China, but these are mostly used in the project field,. it's hard for people to buy it online or from retail market

That's not "install" issue, if factories use H05RN-F rubber cable and leave at a length of 1M min then capilliary should never occur. Even Condensed rubber balls in the cable line as capilliary breaks prevent this, we use that often on exterior. As do Hunza also. Just showing a cheap product using 300mm of PVC cable and water inside the cable. If manufacturers offer "quality" then they know what they are making, you'll find all EU mfrs specify not to cut cable less than 1M and use TUV/GS CCC approved H05RN-F as a minimum, even H07RN-F on Fiberllii products. So it more questions "the source" of the sample, cheapy floodlight say's it all....!

Great video~!!!! Liked, commented, and subscribed. The color coding of the wires on the cheap ufo lights, is giving me the impression that they're supposed to be hooked up to 240V. Yet on the package, it is specifying 110V Cable Usage : yellow/green wire to ground wire, brown wire to live wire, blue wire to neutral wire www.walmart.com/ip/UFO-LED-High-Bay-Light-100W-10000LM-6500K-Daylight-White-Commercial-Bay-Lighti603146741ng/ In the U.S. wiring is black for the "hot" and "white" for the neutral. The "brown", "blue" wire set up is just like they'd use in Europe. Which is 240V I've seen alibaba ads, where it was specified that if the lights are going to the U.S. then you have to let the seller know. So they can set it up for 110V. (I guess). Do you have any input on this...???
@phillhuddleston9445
@phillhuddleston9445 3 жыл бұрын
Not sure but most of the cheap LED's I've used had the same colors on the wires and worked ok at least for a while, they also stated a large voltage range to include 110-220 volts, not sure what the specific range stated.
@backmorning
@backmorning 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to feedback you so late, I should spend more time here. A lot of lighting products can be used within a wide voltage: 85~265v, then it can be sold to the global market. In many cases, all good quality lights should be used well in a wide range of voltage, because the input voltage can not be always very stable, and some changes may come from the power system. So, the high-quality UFO lights, Flood lights, and Street lights used in Europe all, use a driver with a 90~260v range, so they can be used in America too.
