you ask a question to the MOST INTELLIGENT LIFE FORM ON PLANET EARTH, and you expect it to be trustworthy? you are being extremely naive in two ways: you believe what AI says is true without even questioning it, and even if this AI is really trustworthy, you 2: believe that the company behind the AI is instructing it to say the truth. Oh man... how can such naive people be still alive? (i mean, how could they have reached such old age for someone naive without having put their lives at risk)

IIRC The television show Westworld looked into this subject in season 2. It was science fiction back then; but now, just a few years later, it's actually possible in theory. Loosely following the show's premise, I could see how a real-world application for using AI to resurrect the dead could become socially acceptable: There's a lot of AAPL stockholders that criticize Apple CEO Tim Cook as not being an effective leader as Steve Jobs. What if an AI could be created to think just like Steve Jobs? At first, this AI would assist Tim Cook in making creative and strategic decisions. When the AI Steve Jobs' performance starts to surpass Cook's performance, shareholders decide that the AI should take over the CEO position. Other companies take notice, and they also develop AI CEOs to assist or replace human CEOs. For example, Ford resurrects Henry Ford, General Electric resurrects Thomas Edison, and so forth. Thus, using AI to bring back the dead doesn't have the same negative stigma that it does when grieving family members do the same thing. In fact, it becomes desirable to do so because trillions of dollars of stockholder's wealth is created by the 'good' decisions made by AI CEOs. Then, the practice of using "AI to talk to the dead" becomes widespread and socially acceptable?

Psychologists are already in short supply, all I can say is good luck to the next generation. Did you know the average daily "screen time" of this generation of children is approximately 9 hours. This is another effective mass manipulation by "successful" business sucking money and life from vulnerable people, preying on the human need to hold onto memories, reinforcing the avoident processes people tend towards instead of grieving and accepting their reality, moving on and processing their traumas. Good coverage on the topic and opinions, thanks for sharing your content as always! This kind of ai tool is another step towards "The Matrix" 😅

Your overreacting to artificial narrow intelligence. Yes there are issues and concerns but overall despite its shortcomings its a good product. You just have to double check its responses and use common sense when considering its output. When we get AGI yes these concerns will be very valid but we are pretty far away from that. AI will eventually be smarter than us and then it will be important for everyone to work together for the betterment of all but untill then while safety is important we dont need to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Great video. Number one elon musk is not a scientist and all of his timelines and predictions have been off by a long shot. He did not even invent the electric car, he bought into a company that did and made the two founders put him on as a founder. Enough about him. I wrote AI programs back in college, and comp scientists have not been able to figure out how to make AI self aware and a lot think it's not possible. Yann is correct , llm's alone won't be able to become self aware because as noam chomsky puts it " “these programs cannot explain the rules of English syntax,” which renders their predictions always “superficial and dubious.”" They are essentially complex auto complete. Again good video, wish i had found this earlier.

Sorry chatgpt is nowhere nearer AGI than it's first release. LLM's cannot become self aware because they do not understand what the words they are using mean. LLM's are such a tiny part of true AI and we are getting no closer by putting all out efforts into improving LLM's.

yes yes. consider that openai is not stupid. they are there for a reason and they think with their heads. they used people to develop their system and then started throwing them out. now they are portraying a "don't care about security" model so that people start asking for restrictions. and who can provide them? only the government. in the end what will happen? free AI will be banned and only governments will have it, because they are above the law, no one can order or restrict them. OpenAI has already quietly authorized the use of chatgpt for military purposes, look up the information

Thanks for the quality content and concise breakdown of events! I'm inclined to agree that OpenAI will continue to do what it does, the way it wants and feed media or peole whatever they want to hear. With Microsoft standing behind them, they can almost do anything they want and have Microsoft cover it. The scariest part to me is, Microsoft has its hands in almost every global project, and in recent years every ai project that they think has potential, "OSS" or otherwise, plus the recent partnership with Nvidia, they will own the world. Hopefully we'll be dead before ai BillGatesBot is fighting wars on Mars 😅

Glad you liked it! It kind of does look like that, as long as there is no hard enforcing of laws that protect the consumers, OpenAI can kind of do whatever it wants. Especially if not caring means lowering costs by not paying security and quality testers. Well, we can only wait and see.

and the conspiracy side..lol, they wanted us to pay and build roads so they sold us cars, so what are they trying to build now?, if it works foward it will work backward and from remote +AI, pesky talent ideas and innovations get in the way of mass manipulation and monopoly, and duming us down just makes useless beggars jonkies so the solution is to leave us smart but steal our thought patterns and use it against us with what we do, want, say before we get a change to be independant., soon we will be like worker ants following the signals of the queen and our original thoughts stolen and added to the AI manipulator...making flood panic buying and tailored directed sales and conflict and crime and population controll will be available to the monopoly controllers, normally what is releast to the public is actually several years behind the actuall product so not that far away. . no more need for castle walls, religions, rich poor boundries, now controll 4.0 direct brain controll with AI with wirless controll, well at least the feeling of happiness and self worth should be at a push of a button aswell so we can enjoy being slaves yay. i wonder if they will use it to make a better world or just to make more money..

I don't know why people keep referring to Neuralink as "Elon Musk's". All he did was buy it from a company that already adapted/invented it 15-20 years ago. I was there at a Tech Show way before anyo0ne heard of Elon Musk and tried the prototype. And at that time you just wore a headband with sensors around your head and could move objects on a monitor. We don't need it implanted into our heads. This is a window into his evil/dystopian side.

I love making music, but managing a band isn’t something I want to do. I just want to do vocals and guitar, then let an ai do the rest with text input. That’s what I’m waiting for. Will still use melody generators as a starting point, and will use chord generators to try different chords, but as for ai creating the whole thing, well I don’t care much for it, but still using it and keeping up to date on it because you have to keep with the times if you want a chance.

The day an AI can make something as creative and catchy as Frontier Psychiatrist or as heartfelt and romantic as Beethoven's 5th piano concerto 2nd movement, that day we are all replaced. We have seen a decline in creativity and human emotion in pop music over time to the point that most music on the top 100 on Spotify already feels like it could be AI-generated. Human music is going down and AI music is going up and the curves are going to overlap soon. Before we are replaced shit is going to get weird though.

@@ai-with-denis I'm excited to see what will be possible in the coming years and for some people, it will be a very creative symbiosis between man and machine. Personally, I've been using AI tools like spleeter that can extract vocals, drums, and instruments from a mix, not perfectly but good enough. That type of thing will be improved upon. But what is coming is very different where the creativity will start to come more and more from the AI itself and not the user. At one point humans will be out of the loop completely just like today's chess engines beat chess-engine-assisted humans which wasn't true years ago.

@@ManicMindTrick We are talking about Creativity though. What's good and what's bad depends on the viewers eyes. There is no artist better than everyone else, just as there will never be an AI better than everyone else. Between a million "Perfect" Ai Masterpieces may be a single human piece that catches your eye, just as you might wander to look at another art piece when you have the Mona Lisa right in front of you. Just make good music people will enjoy, the rest will come by itself.
