Great video and very informative. Now been qualified for 4 months and your video helped me prepare for my 3A test and others for my 3B. I would like to add a couple of points you could teach your learners as well as for anyone learning or qualified reading this... The safety tugs testing the security of the coupling don't really mean much. My first day of work I unfortunately dropped a trailer following not two but 5 tugs to check. I did my 5 tugs and it seemed more than secure and on the SCANIA units I drive there is no dog clip but a little catch that drops down in front of the kingpin release handle. My advice is to tell learners about this little catch also and to be sure to check (with a torch if necessary) that the trailer is entirely secure. I missed knowing if the catch was secure as my first day of work was the first time I had seen this specific type of catch. It was only after I was coupled, legs lifted and suzies attached and the trailer had dropped down that it was obviously not secure.

Not in some london roads plus cars there wont give you space and with insurance scammers it’s better to take up both lanes for the safety of your vehicle and others .Drivers these days in london are so impatient and dont care

@a1trainingservicesАй бұрын
I’m afraid that’s just something that comes with experience, if you feel like you won’t make the turn without hitting the curb then you need to straddle. Hope that helps

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to seek your advice regarding a specific concern I have encountered on my tested route. During my assessments, I have noticed that there is a narrow road which can be obstructed by unloading lorries. This situation poses a significant challenge, as it becomes impossible to navigate through in a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) without mounting the kerb. Given the importance of maintaining safety and compliance on test days, I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how to manage such a scenario effectively. Could you please advise on best practices for handling this situation? Any recommendations or strategies you may have would be extremely helpful to ensure a safe and successful outcome. Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your prompt response. Warm regards, Janco
@a1trainingservices2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question Janco. If this happens on test the examiner would advise on how to proceed, they will avoid area like this where you would be unable to pass safety. If this does happen on test do not mount the curb to get past but ask the examiner how he would like you to proceed. Hope that helps! Best of luck on your test.
@janco19642 ай бұрын
@@a1trainingservices Thank you for your quick response regarding the proposed route for the upcoming test. The specified route leads back to our test centre in Chelmsford, which is often fraught with unwanted parking issues. In the event that I encounter such difficulties, I will not hesitate to consult with the examiner on how to navigate the situation appropriately. Thank you once again for your support. Sincerely,Janco

Did a fridge meat run to some tesco's around Brum yesterday, Loaded up from Eye near Diss in Suffolk, first drop was Hamilton, Leicester then Hodge Hill, Yardley, Aston and Walsall - which was a right pig to get to! Went by the Airport too as was coming from the A45 from the Chelmsley wood junction. Fortunately it was in a Daf 26 tonne 6 wheeler rigid - gawd knows how I would have done it in an artic lol I like to watch these videos to refresh on the discipline required for driving these things. I watched them all the time prior to passing my class 1 last year and am grateful! :)

My instructor told me when the examiner told you to move check mirror then signal and wait until the road is clear even if there are cars to let them know that you are about go i asked him about the signal he said it,s okey you are not driving small car you are allowed to do that i am bit confused and you are saying if you signal immediately after checking mirror you are forcing them to stop
@a1trainingservices4 ай бұрын
Each instructor will teach slightly differently, we feel this is the best method 👍. We suggest waiting for a gap first but if there isn’t one after 30 seconds or so then indicate to show your intention to rejoin traffic. Best of luck on your test!
