This act of sacrifice is God's free gift to humanity through His Son, Jesus Christ, that by simply believing by faith that Jesus did this for you, you will have eternity in Heaven with Him. The water baptism signifies the death of your life without Jesus (the submersion) and your resurrection into your new life with Jesus (coming out of the water)!
