The words you are singing are now more commonly sung to Regent Square as is sung in the LBW (AKA the Green Hymnal).

Jesus Christ is Risen Today, ALLELUIA (which we sing to Easter Hymn) accompanied by the tune LLANFAIR.. when did Angels From The Realms of Glory get Wed with the current tune R3GENT SQUARE? Can you do a hymn of the week in which R3GENT SQUARE by Henry Smart.

Vaughan Williams (not related to either Wolliam or Perer Williams) is represented by the famous LASST UNS ERFREUEN (LBW 143, LBW 157, LBW 543) ad I mentioned, not a Wels tune, but worth an honorable mention, because ot its numerous Alleluis ans O Praise Him, and the tunr known as Dexter (Rarth And All Stars) with ots melismatic Sing to the Lord a New Song (whicj has a repeat) and tge actual refrain which itself had a melismatic He has Done marvelous things opening phrase. Also not q wrlsh tune, but it the badis behind the latrr trxt ALLELUIA, Jesus is Risen which first arrived on th3 scene as a Lutheran Service Book (LCMS) hymn and then the ELW got it. Handel is noteworthy for giving us two HYMN texts still in use today, being Joy to the World and the popular Easter Hymn Thine is the Glory. Dix is flap a repeat tube (LBW 82 and LBW 561). IN ELW, the Dine nomine tube (LBW 174 and GTG 270)

This trumpet tune was featured on the OHS / Organ Media Foundation had thus as a framing piece leading into the video on the second organ (the Kimball) at Atlantic City. Thus hymn itself, was sung to close the OHS concentration back in 2013 Played in a Wurlitzer and using the first six of the originally composed LBW stanzas

How did you go from A Flat to A. I would have thought a Major Third from A Flat major to D major much like Beethoven went from D Minor in the opening of Symphony 9 (from which Joyful Joyful is originated) to G Major

Compare the Morgenlied Tune in B Flat and see if Mr. maker's tune Morgenlied compared to this version shows the same usage of secondary and primary dominant chords.

My personal favorite Easter hymn having sang this every year since growing up as a Lutheran. An interesting tidbit is that the key that this hymn is in for ELW (A-flat Major) is actually a whole step down from the key (B-flat Major) this hymn was in for the ELW's predecessor Lutheran hymnal (Lutheran Book of Worship or LBW). One of very hymns to get this between the two hymnals.

The final verse of Jesus Christ is Risen today. The last two lines of the doxology are quoted with the usual Alleluia.

Is the hymn in this new version still set in G Major as it was in the LBW or did this hymn like Morgenlied, get reharmonize 1 step lower in F Major (bus a bus B Flat rather than F sharp)? In this version the life word Lord and you were changed to a God and respectively.

From where does this harmonization come? It's simpler than the Bach harmonization that I tend to encounter in most hymnals nowadays.

How do you get a group to sing this together well without a steady beat? Solo is fine, you have freedom, but in an ensemble I can’t see how.

885 is the way the Christian Church Disciples of Christ sings the Doxology as an Offering Response (aka Offertory Verse. I don't know where they got this liturgical tradition from. I grew up on the LBW and the verses aLet The Vineyards Be Fruitful Lord and Create in Me A Clean Heart although I'm Lent we sang Thank the Lord following Communion (traditionally omitted in Lent but the congregation to which I belonged at the time did not use the lesser known Nunc Dimitis tune abd text.). I do not know if All People That On Earth do Dwell made it into the LBW. The Doxology itself, however did get in that canon of Hymnody as 564 and 565. We often sang it as a table grace at Social Events. Another table Grace we often sang was Johny Apple Seed (O The Lord is Good to Me);which could relate well to verse 2 (Know that the the Lord is Good, ....).

884 has been used as an offering response verse. It also, in terms of the Lutheran Tradition, in terms of meals and fellowship, we sing this as a table grace. 884 & 885 get used more commonly than things like This is the Feast (LBW P. 81, from Setting 2) or Let The Vineyards be Fruitful Lord (p 86 in LBW, From setting 2). Let The Vineyards from Setting 2 is sung at Young Life's Woodleaf when dismissing from Chapel to the dinner meal.
