Idk I enjoy the game and have a lot of fun with it. To just boil down its success to "people have invested time so they don't stop playing even tho they hate it" is just a bit silly. Cheaters are a problem and are a serious problem in almost every online game today. Apex legends just had a big hacking scandal during a tournament. I do think Tarkov has succeeded in part because it's really hard. It makes raids more exciting, and survival feels more impactful compared to other extraction shooters where you don't really feel the punishment from not surviving. There is also a lot of different progression in the game, which allows for all of the systems to work in tandem. You have tasks to level up the traders, which require either engaging in combat, going to a specific place, or finding specific items. On top of that you also have the hideout which requires a lot of in game items to level up the modules. The loot has purpose, its used as a commodity in game and can be traded or used. Tarkov works because it has a foundation to support the mechanics of the game. The problem with other games is that you don't really care about the loot, and when you don't care about the loot, you start asking yourself why you are even playing an extraction shooter. I agree that the game has numerous problems and the behavior of the devs has been dogshit at times. But I think your video seriously discounts the reasons why EFT has stuck around so long.

I quit Tarkov around the time that the unheard edition bs happened. I don't regret quitting but i do really want another game that can fill that void. I've been playing Dayz which is a lot of fun but it not an extraction shooter. Greyzone had the most potential of the games Ive played but it had so many issues. That game really needed another year or two before releasing it. The devs dropped the ball hard on that one.

Let's face it, it's not interesting enough of a genre to support ten different reskins of the same game. Especially when they're all in early access.

Me getting into tarkov about half a year ago and finally seeing the first wipe. I held this game back for the longest time because of the genuine fear I had of this game. Dark souls of FPS this and cheater that. I played cycle the last frontier from release up till they killed it. I loved it so much (rest in peace). I feel like the biggest problem with me personally when trying to switch to another extraction shooter is the fact there is no better one then EFT at the very moment. For me personally the thing that makes this game is the second hand MIL SIM experience that you get with it. Grey zone warfare felt too “arcade” like to me, or as you said in the video “plasticky” which resonates a lot with me. The problem with the cheaters I’ll be really hounest you see everywhere. Rainbow six siege, overwatch, apex legends etc etc etc. The thing with tarkov is the fact there is so much more on the line compared to those other games mentioned. There is also the big cope for me personally that most players are better than me making it very hard for me to surely say this man is cheating. (I also report everyone on EFT that kills me and I haven’t received a single cheater banned gift). I have also seen way way waaay more cheaters in siege and apex combined compared to EFT. What I always tell people is yes the game is piss hard yes the game is terrifying and awfully optimised but if you really want that highly competitive edge scratched just play it. You are too scared that the game is way too hard but you love mil sim like games like EFT? I always tell my friends to download EFT from my account so that they can download SPT lol. I feel like extraction shooters aren’t at their peak yet. The moment tarkov releases 1.0 there is a huge gap in the market to fill for other companies. Do I think others will beat EFT? I personally don’t think so. If EFT does their 1.0 patch well I have no doubt in that. If they don’t there is bound to be that one “tarkov killer” that will actually kill tarkov. (If you like extraction shooters, try grey zone warfare first. If you like the idea and gameplay just buy EFT lol)

i think the thing that held a lot of players back from playing arena breakout was the pay to win stuff, I genuinely believe that if they got ahold of the cheaters and changed the monitization a lot of players would have swapped over and I agree with the gray sentiment about gzw, I hope it gets a big optimisation patch and brings back a lot of their player base
@xab3r5615 сағат бұрын
@@Limbocity_TV not a single game in the entire gaming industry has been able to even get close to that "get ahold of the cheaters". But yeah, of course some random company would have chances on this. ima be honest I’ve played for 3 years have over 9k hours in the game but the problem with this game for me is that if you have a busy life such as working long jobs or have a family as well playing this game isn’t worth it. This game takes so much time to get good gear & just overall progression. It’s still a fun game to hop on but it takes alot out of you after a few raids . I feel exhausted … so I ended up playing arena breakout and it’s not as immersed as tarkov but it’s really easy to progress through it the only problem is the solo aspect so if your a solo player good luck getting sandwiched all of your games lol but it’s a good alternative

I feel like this after playing since Alpha. I started playing a month before Interchange was added to the game and Tarkov was a new beast, My buddy told me about it and linked videos from DeadlySlob and I was instantly hooked on the concept of the game, but after 7 years the game feels exciting for a new patch then I quickly dip off after reaching Max level traders. I love Tarkov but the community itself has killed the game for me long term, I hate the classification of players of Rats or Chads even if you play tactically, I hate how the game has turned from a game where gear mattered and you had to work for it to you just get to flea and buy all your items and never really bother learning "How to Play" it makes playing tedious since it feels like it being more geared towards players just using flea (Arena has definitely shown that) and it just hasnt been as fun since. I skipped the last 2 wipes before coming back to .15 after playing SPT for a while and I had alot of fun but i wanted to play with buddies and PvE gave me that and I enjoy the game more than ever (besides tasking and the PMC ai gets boring after awhile since they have set spots they patrol/camp at) its made me appreciate how far this game has come since Alpha and how much EFT has grown to be a Mainstream game even with its brutal difficulty.

I think pve was one of the most fun experiences I've had with friends, I should have tried out SPT but I was always scared of being perma'd by BSG for installing it, plus I stream a lot and I don't think they would enjoy me streaming SPT. I started around the time that labs was released, when you didn't need a card to get into the map, forgot to add that in the video too.
