For the people commenting on the size of the troop - I've seen troops with eight members graduating (a full troop would be 32), and the Musical Ride has been reduced from a full compliment of 32, to 24, now down to 16. Speaks volumes.

@@XJeepSlaveX Mostly classes getting smaller because nobody wants to be a police officer any more, even for $100k a year and a pension. Would rather try to be "influencers".

Probably a former military member. I believe they are allowed to wear medals that they were previously awarded in the military.

Graduated troop 9, 1989 -90 normal size troop 32. My guess is the RCMP is struggling to recruit members.. Congrats. Maintiens le Droit! Stay safe

They barley have anyone to cover the retiring members so they are taking whatever has a pulse now. But just look at how stupid RCMP tradition is. So muchpointless marching, way to much over training like so many ion my troop went home due to splints , and why is this dude walking around the whole square with a sword? Who would want to be a cop or RCMP today? The government. RCMP brass will throw you under the bus whenever they can, Brenda Lucky, the old commish called the RCMP racist, SO NO SUPPORT from supperiors. RCMP is just hurting

If you're not interested in tradition and a bit of military styling, the RCMP seems like a poor career choice. Plenty of municipal departments that basically just act like Americans, might be a better option for someone that doesn't agree with the value of drill and tradition.

@@stelladavis7832 I don't agree that drill is pointless, it's got a lot of value beyond just looking good on parade. I think the real real issue is that not many people really understand that value anymore and treat drill like a performance routine that you're taught to memorize rather than focusing on the mechanics and the spacial awareness aspects of it. The RCMP isn't a normal police force and should absolutely maintain its military traditions. If you remove the unique aspects of the RCMP, why would ANYONE want to join rather than going to a municipal department? The Military and RCMP are both suffering massive recruiting issues BECAUSE they've abandoned huge amounts of their identity and traditions. Continuing to ransack every bit of culture Canada has isn't going to improve things.

Small troop, not enough cops to replace ones leaving, the training is really dumb, like why still have drill, running until half the troop gets splints, never enough time to eat, they care about how your clothes are hung? I wonder how many know their ctim code, or know how to actually protect themselves and others. When I was at depot it was all about maintaining a cult mind set, no wonder they struggle to find cops

Lol, they are litterally taking anything with a pulse, the troop started off with like 35 but dumb training sends a lot home, as they do overtraining and pointless march drills

It depends on what stage of training they're at. As they get more senior they take on more police looking uniforms. They march on the parade square senior to junior troop, senior meaning they've been there the longest.

Differant stages of earning uniform. And some troops can switch up their uniform style from others.

@@stelladavis7832 no, their where hard times, my memory's where all the nights spent polishing your kit with troop mates, or studying for our blues challenge, all the PDU practice drives. The good memories made with your troopmates and I wouldnt trade those memories for anything!
