An agency not signing you is not a red flag. Some SAG agencies are non-exclusive. But Nine9 seems like a joke for sure. I just left the Zoom call., & they did ask for money. I kept missing meetings and they continued to call & call…now, that’s a red flag!

@ This channel is listed as a podcast. All of my voice-over-related videos are basically vlogs, which is what this channel started out as. The point of my videos aren’tnjust to do bite-sized clips with short answers on products. This video and my entire channel existed before “KZbin shorts” and before the doom-scrolling epidemic. Doing a video on microphones isn’t as easy as just saying “this mic is better than this one” in the voice-over world. Each person’s voice is different and each situation might require something unique so there isn’t really a way to do a super short video on a microphone, that covers ones opinion on something and why while also still being a vlog or podcast about my experiences on voiceover. What’s funny is my shorter videos get less attention because KZbin doesn’t promote them and people don’t think videos can be detailed and deep if they are only a few minutes long. I also can’t “script them” because people don’t trust review videos that are too well planned and often think they are fake or paid by the companies to say what they want. Last two things to note would be that this is a really old video. Commenting “change the way you do your videos” may not be relevant anymore. Kind of like if someone vlogged and was learning how to do piano and got better at it as one would 6-10 years later but you focused on the early videos of that journey. Not sure what you are wanting here. It’s not like I can re-edit this video as it is or re-upload ths same one would be a good channel move. Finally, people with autism ramble. It’s one of the things we are known for. We over share and kind of dance around on topics. There’s not only no way around that but also no point in trying to shame them. Now if it’s a more recent video, sure. That’s different because my style, system and format would be basically the same as the next video so making suggestions there would be relivant. But videos this old? No real point anymore.

Whats a recommended way to have a group chat session where we/I can have them record there voices and i be able to hear the recording and use it instantly instead of having to get it sent to me through email? Im not sure if im explaining that properly, but if you get what i mean, please tell me something.

I just exited the zoom call about an hour ago. I was into it until she mentioned that they are holding auditions for bad boys 4 with Will smith and Martin Lawrence. Bad boys 4 came out 6 months ago in June 2024. So that def raised an eyebrow. I stayed until the end but when it came to pay, I sent a question and asked what happens if my card declined? She answered every other incoming question but ignored mine for about 5 minutes. lol I hung up after that.

I've listened to and watched a lot of Bill DeWees videos recently and he just comes across as a very helpful and genuine guy. He works with his strengths in business and marketing. I don't see how there is anything wrong with that. We all have different strengths and weaknesses, and we all have to market ourselves to some extent as part of our business. There's no secret that will all intend to make money here. That is a given with any business. Bill may just be a little old school in his approach, and some folks aren't used to it. There are many aspects of the industry that have changed. As an actor we all used to utilize email and mail-ins at one time not long ago. We had to pick up the phone and call people. In regards to training, it is cumulative. As any kind of performer you need to train with different people to learn different aspects of performing and your business. This is the investment you sign up for. Not one coach is going to be all things to all people. They are helpers along the way. You take each one for what they have to offer and move on. Maybe some you will be with longer than others. I honestly don't understand the complaints people have about this man. It seems like these folks are just looking for someone to blame, or don't understand how this works. I just find that complainers put all their energy into complaining and blaming so they don't actually have to take responsibility for doing they work it takes. And as far as the industry having a problem with Bill, I think Bill just came in at a time when there were new avenues to getting work and he utilized them. Again, nothing wrong with that at all. People just want to find things wrong. Bill doesn't live in LA, so he found ways to build a VO biz online. Sharing that info has been helpful to a lot of folks in his same position. Maybe this is why the industry isn't happy with him. He found a way to go around the gatekeepers. I think this is a case of haters are just gonna hate. Bill is just out there doing his thing, and being helpful sharing what he has learned and what he knows. I don't think there is any reason to put him on blast.

@@matthewhedge8955 if plugged into your camera, you can both send a feed to the camera at the same time the device is recording separately. Timmy, I've had and loved the AT875R for four years and prefer it over my Synco D2, but when I do character work with volume fluctuations I get so thrown off. Decreasing the gain during louder lines kinda throws off the flow and doesn't match the rest as much as I like, and standing farther away is better but still doesn't match well.

I realize I'm 6 years late on this video, but I have both of these mics - currently using the AT2020, but I have a V67G that I used for a bit when I first started fiddling with home recording. Now that I'm an actual paid VO artist, I've been using the AT2020. Now to the video - to my ears, I hear just a bit of a fuzz on the V67G than I do with the AT2020 - just a touch though. Currently looking at possibly upgrading, but I've made a lot of money using the AT2020. That one sounds pretty danged solid IMO. On a side note, my vocal coach just recorded a national ad campaign on an MXL 990 - I've literally heard it on TV - so there you go. His workhorse mic is the AT2020, which is why that's what I bought when I built my and equipped my VO studio. The reality is, if the voice is good and the mic adequately captures it, I'd think anyone would be hard-pressed to identify the mic that was used, or how much money it cost.
