I flew a hangglider in the '70s & early '80s. They were a lot safer in downdraft conditions...

That's the reason I fly airplanes. You can fly a paraglider ultra smooth the whole time but all of a sudden the chute can collapse without warning and you go down very quick.

As a power pilot I'm ignorant of the handling of paraglders, but my (uniformed) question is if the wing was battened, would it stop the potentially fatal wing collapse?

Hi, what is your total flying weight?
@paramax125 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, I'm 73kg but with all the stuff I'll be probably around 83kg!?
@alexp6415 жыл бұрын
@@paramax12 Thanks massimo for your aswer ;) . My weight is 80kg with more 90kg with all stuff and you are 10-15kmh faster than me (with my spitfire 2 9.5). I'm propecting to change my wing. If you've ever tried it: Is there a big difference between the 8.5 and 8m2 pro version?
@paramax125 жыл бұрын
@@alexp641 personally I think there's more difference between the 9.5 and the 8.5.. the pro is only 0.5m smaller.. but it's really reactive

Belle riprese, bravo.

Waste of rescue personnel time and resources. Should never have launched in that weather. Just think of all the cats that died that day stuck up a tree and couldn't be saved due to your stupidity 😂😉

Also immer dran denken Happy landings!

Rain increases stall speed. As a prohylactic measure, you could have pushed the bar to avoid parachutal stall. You will not always have a tree or plenty space below you the next time it occurs.

He would have avoided all this horror if he would have pullded the brakes at 2'14 , but he was just holding his risers and watching all the scene doing nothing.. Poor fellas

Nothing to do with weather, everything to do with half wrap on brake and holding too much brake input during spiral recovery surge, glider never allowed to fly until hand is released from brake when reserve is reached for. Glider fly's again fine after brakes are released to through reserve. Common problem, predictable outcome.

God bless you sir I'm just learning how to ground handle my epsilon 9 and I I'm on the very top of the weight range I'm going to fly a trim speed and keep my hands up as much as I can. I'm going to avoid spiral diving as much as possible.
