dang nice one man. That level always seems really inconsistenent. Especially the jumps on the halfpipe ramps at the start, sometimes it seems like you get massive height or pretty much stalled out for no reason. Anyway congrats that was super clean

Oh it's definitely the most inconsistent. This is the only level I've posted records for, just because it is so hard. I'm getting better at it, but sometimes I still get like 90 secs on it \_(ツ)_/¯

Impressive run! there is some interesting abuse of the jump physics that i didnt know about - from theGraharG (3rd on leader board)

Yeah, there is. Between that and just plain glitches it's possible to even go a lot quicker than this, but everything is so inconsistent lol

@@ConnorGroel yeah the physics are really inconsistent. I found you can drive along the top of level 5 (like off the top of the screen) if you get lucky. you jump on the first ramp of the level (a bit before its peak), and jump as you hit the peak of the second ramp, you get a weird kick that puts you on top of the cave section

One tip would to go into developer settings and change they width of your game. I use a width of 2000 to see further ahead in the game. Helps with timing and landing jumps.

Very cool! I thought I was the only one who still played this game, so good to see someone else giving it a shot! How do you go into the developer settings?

@@ConnorGroel Start Dune Buggy in that site, and get to the firat menu. Go to the 3 dots in the top left corner. Then hover over More Tools and click on Developer Tools. Half your screen will be taken up by this. In the top left corner of this new box, click on the square with a cursor in it. Then click in the Dune Buggy game. It will highlight text on the right side. Right click on width and go to Edit Attribute. Change the 620 to around 1500-2000. Then X out of the Dev Tools and scroll to fit the game nicely in your screen.

Ok ive given up trying to beat you. All my personal bests put together gives me a time of 8:10. Only level I can beat you on is lvl 5, where if you jump as you land at 1:40, you will get ontop of the level where its all flat and you can go super fast

Yea I've definitely put way more time than I'd like to admit into this game lol. Good catch on lvl 5 - I've done that a couple times by accident but getting that consistently would be big. I think sub-8 can be done but so much luck involved. I might try from time to time but I'm happy with where it's at rn. Def watched your vid early on and slowly found faster ways by repetition + luck. Silly grind but that's speedrunning for ya.
