Landlords are selling up in droves and don’t say “more” houses to buy because that’s just not the case for tenants there’s going to be thousands of homeless people very soon,
Considering the state of the courts and they have openly admitted that there are wait times of years for big cases I think she’s being completely over optimistic in this renters rights bill. It’s a disaster for renting for both landlords AND tenants.
Selling because the government are killing landlords and making buy to let mortgage applicants jump through too many hoops

😑 watching this when I've upgraded all my properties to a C except 2 of them which are D's. I just do them when renovating distressed properties before renting them out. Does this grant require a partial payment from landlord to qualify for the grant?

I am not sure, but I will post more information on KZbin as we find out more detail. Like and Subscribe to make sure you don't miss it!

Impossible ... never going to happen. Our housing stock is old and anything pre 1940's will have totally solid walls, zero cavity.
@titlesplit3 ай бұрын
Hello Mark, I am afraid it is going to happen. It is likely that we will be expected as Landlords to spend £10K per property. You can internally or externally insulate walls.

This doesnt apply in wales

This grant should be available to homeowners not a damn landlords

It is for home owners as well. If your after Just insulation try the great British insulation scheme you just need to be council tax band A-D to qualify in England A-E in Wales

It won't happen. Too many rental propeties will never reach a C. There's a shortage as there is.

Are the grants available for student houses? They are certainly low income but so they qualify ?
@titlesplit3 ай бұрын
They should be as they are residential properties and have EPC requirements

My property is 'listed building'. How on earth can I expect to bring it up to higher standards of insulation when I'm not even allowed to fit double glazed windows?
@RB-cs5dw3 ай бұрын
Tell the window to identify as double glazing, worlds gone mad anyways 😂
@Kk999213 ай бұрын
You can get a exemption on the EPC

listed buildings are exempt from EPC's aren't they?
@nononononoo6893 ай бұрын
How are you meant to renovate the property with tenants? It isn't exactly practical to replaster all external-facing walls for internal insulation.

If the rental properties have been sold off, someone owns them, and likely lives in them, and since it costs less overall to buy than to rent, those people are better off now aren't they?
@titlesplit3 ай бұрын
While some sold rental properties are now owner-occupied, many renters can't afford to buy. This reduction in rental stock leads to higher rents, making it harder for those still needing to rent.

This is so true, as a landlord myself I try to keep my rental property well repaired and fit to live in. I have always allowed tenants to have pets, because I have pets myself so why shouldn't they? I have had cats scratching the wallpaper a bit, and a dog that chewed a low wooden window sill but I don't care, these things can be repaired. If the government are intent on driving private landlords out then where are the council houses being built to house them? They are heading for a housing crises of their own making.
@titlesplit3 ай бұрын
You're right-without enough council housing being built, the government's policies are pushing landlords out, worsening the housing crisis. Fewer rental properties mean higher prices, and renters will have fewer options.
